Why do people keep saying this?
guess because to use 4 TB of redfootage one need 8 TB of storage.

"Native support" to me would imply dragging an .r3d file right from my finder into the FCP project bin and being able to use that clip in my timeline. Currently, I get a message that says "File Error: Unknown File."
I'm assuming the new ProRes 4444 means 4:4:4 plus 4k? That would make sense, because there's not many 4:4:4 formats that aren't 4k, right?
Price has dropped too:
Full price went from $1299 to $999
Upgrade went from $499 to $299.

I'm looking, but am I seeing that you STILL can't author BluRay in DVDSP?
All jokes aside I wonder how soon RED Rocket™ compatibility with happen.
This page has a bit of confusing info:
http://www.apple.com/finalcutstudio/finalcutpro/broad-format-support.html
It seems like most of their 'native' support is advocated through log and transfer, which isn't all that native to me. But it says it has native camera support for AVC-Intra and DVCPROHD as well as XDCAM. Does that mean you can take mxf-wrapped P2 footage straight off your backup (or the cards I guess) and put it straight into the timeline?
If you can't drop anything other than a QT file into the timeline, I may have to upgrade to Adobe instead.
