New Elite anamorphic S7 lens test

The new arrival at our rental house - Elite Anamorphic S7. This is new anamorthic line from
optica-elite.com which was released at Dec 2016.

Elite anamorphic S7 have brightly expressed character. They have a vintage look similarly to Lomo anamorphic, Kowa anamorphic or Cineovision, but they have their own character. Also they are modern lenses with smooth mechanics and high contrast. They keep good color saturation even with strong backlight. Flares are more strong comparing to Cooke anamorphic and Master anamorphic (with flare sets), but not so bright as at Lomo and Cineovision. Along with this they are small and light, very suitable for Move and handheld shooting.
As a disadvantages we can point:
1) Chromatic aberration at open aperture.
2) Different shape of boke. But the character of boke stay the same style - vertical stretching. This could be a problem with shooting night scenes. And it is not noticeable at day shooting.

PS: Some shots which were taken from dolly are out of focus, note that other shots are in focus and they are sharp.

Here is data from official website, they say cover Red 6K, but I think it's better to test it. I will update when we do it.

Open Gate would yield a 2.325:1 ratio with these. I'd say that makes them a pretty ideal match for getting the most out of Open Gate for a widescreen finish. Monitoring could be a biatche though.

These have a great feel, in some ways the depth of field drop off has a classic Cooke thing going but I like the bokeh on these much better then the Cooke.

These are not designed for open gate on Alexa Mini.

They don't cover 18mm high 22mm wide.... ?
