  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Apple Video Pro-Apps Final Cut Pro March 24?

FCP was written by the adobe code heads anyways

Macromedia actually, before they were eaten up by Adobe.

I think the only real explanation for the extended time between updates to FCS is that they are coding from the ground up for 64bit Snow Leopard. Hopefully they've also loosened the reliance on Quicktime, bolstered Color and Motion and, please please please please please, revived Shake from its coffin deep in the cold cold ground.

wanna make a Bett? (sorry bad pun)
Macromedia hired Randy from adobe.

The other bit about delay caused by coding from the ground up for
a 64bit snow cat is something I agree with.

Maybe they are trying to track down Randy ...

All Betts are off:bleh:

Really? I always thought they bought it from Macromedia. Fair enough, my mistake. I've been wrong before.

Well, Randy (which also means horny downunder) does come from the word random, meaning any time, any place. He might be hard to track down:whistling:

A little less conversation, ...

If Apple really has re-written the major components of FCS to work in 64 bits with Snow Leopard on the new procs I will eStatic (though still wondering how the new MacPros could ship without eSATA ports :ranting2: .

IMHO the future of Final Cut in the professional space will be decided in 2009. Avid got fat and lazy if you ask me, but there's been a shake up that might lead to a more market friendly product line. If Apple can deliver a best in class solution soon they can establish the kind of market dominance that Avid used to enjoy, if they continue to be more talk than action...

you won't see a new final cut until snow leopard is out.
new final cut will need to be cocoa and 64 bit.

maybe a preview at best, then more waiting.
