  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

New Apple iPhone commercial:

How can anyone say it looks like RED? What gives it away? I doubt ANYONE can look at any footage and name the camera just based on the final footage.

Honestly though, IMHO, it was probably shot on film.

You can tell these things for sure. It definitely has many characteristics of RED.

1)noiseless and clean

2)sharp but soft look

3)similar shadow characteristics

Anyone?

The only thing is the anamorphic flares which look like they were done in post except for the one they walk through.

I don't mean to be a bung hole, but aren't we viewing it from a website? w/H264 compression (being that it's streaming).

...come on guys.

Erm, that elliptical bokeh looks more like an effect of the shape of a background object rather than the result of an anamorphic lens.

Yeah, that's Apple's Genius Bar logo.

There was some filming going on at the 5th avenue store in NYC that they shut the whole store down for. This was on may 29. While some of the setup would appear to not match what was in this ad (they may have been shooting more than one?) it would seem to make sense with the genius bar shot. Would have been a reasonably fast turnaround for that shot.
