  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Nevermore Film trailer is FINISHED!

Are you sure you haven't accidentally shot the whole film - there's a lot of material in there !!
ehehehehe

go olsen brothers go.. hollywood is expecting you :willy_nilly:  :thumbup1:

The Olsen Brother do it again. Great work guys. Very impressive. I recognize the exploding car from several months back. It's all starting to make sense.

Best of luck on chasing down the green light.

I'll have to agree. Also I think the color correction is a bit heavy handed and inconsistent? What was it colored on? Just my opinion. Good luck on the film, looks interesting.[/QUOTE

I respect your thoughts on color however we did exactly what WE wanted on the color. We used scratch to do our work.

maybe your monitor is dark? or some strange gamma? this was done on a PC in scratch with a Dreamcolor screen default gamma in scratch and looks FANTASTIC on a bluray in a theater from a 2k Christie and on a Plasma

yep, thanks man.....The cool thing is, we don't really even need a green light at all...it will be shot no matter what, what Hollywood can bring is more of everything, money, stars, sales etc etc......so....we are going to explore that for a week and see what we turn up. ;)

Obin & Amariah -

Congrats! Truly amazing and inspiring stuff! There is no question you guys are going to explode. I felt that when I had a chance to talk to you both at NAB in the Adobe booth. You show amazing talent and drive. All you need are some amazing tools and for people to get out of the way.

You WILL grab the attention of bigger studios simply from a business angle if not for artistic value. Companies are going to be amazed at what the 2 of you accomplished for relatively no funding.

Awesome!

Jim

You are on the leading curve of what this technological revolution brings to the hands of those of us who will get where we want to go one way or the other.

I'll drink to that brotherman!

13 hours and counting till we head out./....

hahaha just think it could have all been done on film. what a pain in the ass that would have been.

Never shot a single frame of film for motion or stills work. never will.

So you would replace all those actors with name talent given the proper budget?

yea we would, it all depends on what we turn up. should be an interesting week ahead.

I would not want or choose to go at a project like this but it will serve us well, already has in a HUGE way and that is all that really matters.

What would you advise others do who are trying to get a project off the ground?

(amazing work - I'm fascinated to see how it all works out for you)

Good Luck!!!!

find money, nothing more.

Hey Obin, thats awesome. Quite a feat for sure, especially for only you two. I agree the color grade is a bit much, something about it reminds me of a cut scene from a video game (not such a bad thing, they are very cinematic these days though can be a bit overdone). I think the vignetting in some scenes is a bit distracting as is the color grade, but still I see what you are going for. I imagine the heavy grade helps blend the vfx a bit. Some really great shots in there.

I thought I saw some image stretching in the exterior school shot. Looks like a 5d shot with image stabilization done in post. At first it struck me as a VFX shot because the camera was too smooth and something about the shot looked almost 2d. What kind of rig did you use to fly the 5d around? some shots look like they have a longish shutter, was that on purpose or maybe its just that they were slowed down in post without a higher shutter speed so they look more smeary? or maybe shot on 5d before manual control?

I really like some of the camera moves, what kinds of dolly/cranes did you use? I cant imagine how you pulled it all off with no budget! the cop cars, costumes, locations (what percent were real locations?) look great!

Thanks for posting this trailer, I remember the days when you were building your own RAW camera, nice of RED to come in and make things easier for us. :)
