  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Nevermore Film trailer is FINISHED!

This might be the most amazing no budget pitch trailer I've ever seen. I agree the grade is heavy handed. In some scenes it works, in others it doesnt. Love the girl in the graveyard with the black umbrella. Some really stunning shots.

Great work! You're really putting all of your skills to service here, must have been thrilling to film all this.
The CGI looks great, sometimes it almost becomes like a cartoony painting, bizarre but still very interesting and satisfying to look at.

Question: If you got a Hollywood type budget for this, would you replace all the leads with name actors?

This project is a showcase of why we built these cameras... put image quality in the hands of talented young filmmakers.

Congratulations.

Jim

Yes, the idea was to stay as far from reality as possible and try and create a painted look with the grade, lighting and effects. I used scratch for all the grading, which is a fantastic app for this.
This is a different look than how i'd usually grade... but I wanted to try something new and different, softer and more watery-colored.

Thanks Jim. When we first started building our own raw camera back in the day it was so we could achieve these types of shots. You stepped in and gave that ability to everyone. Build 20 was a fuckin' godsend for all the green-screen shots :)

I can't even frickin belive what meetings we are getting in LA with showing this trailer.

Jim, you have not heard enough thanks I know. so I am going to say it again.

Thank you Thank you Thank you.

it really sucked when we could see the type images we wanted in our heads but could never shoot them.

sorry guys your overloading the server..I have to take it down or all the folks that really need to see this will not be able to get it...maybe someone can host for us?

anyone catch the Canon5d shots? lol

Jim, that cam is ...ermm..the best they could do??....but it's small and does not weigh much.....so we can fly it.

**************** we need server space if anyone wants this trailer to stay on reduser..we can't deal with the bandwidth from the overload of redusers downloading the HD files...*******************

Is the trailer available on vimeo or youtube[HD]?

youtube sucks....lets see what else we can do..I'm working on a guy that made an offer to host....720p HD..we'll see...

ok...going to VImeo again in HD 720p...looks like it will work with a 1280x720 file instead of 1280x500 or whatever the SCOPE is I had..

Guys, wow nice job.

I'm glad you clarified the look you were going for as at first I thought the FX scenes seemed a bit too cartoonish/comic bookish. But then you explained that's what you were going for and in that case, looks like you achieved the look.

Quite a bit of effort in there for a trailer. But hopefully it pays off with a deal. Obviously this gives you a lot more leverage than simply showing up with a script.

Keep up the good work! When things settle down, need to rattle your brain a little bit about some Adobe beta stuff, but I can wait until you guys get some down time.
