I am DPing 2nd unit on a film in Europe and we need 2 Carbon Dragon bodies for the entire month of August. Preferably Germany or Switzerland.

They must be Carbon since ounces count when they are on a wing suit helmet.

They are rare indeed.

Thanks Peter

hey Peter,
I have one Carbon here in Switzerland, where you are making the film?

Luigi

Yes some of the work with be on jungfrau in Lauterbrunen and some will be here in Walenstadt....

Sadly our cameraman who has flown with Epics on his helmet died last week in Florida in a crash. I am trying to really lighten the load.....

And one of my Dragons was destroyed on the film Monster Trucks last week....

Hi PeterWe met whilst I was doing ReducationX last year. My CD should have arrived by then, would be happy to drive it out from the UK if needed. PM me if you are interested. Would be great to catch up again. Tom

This is all pretty awful :(

Popped you a PM, we can help with gear.

One could always shoot at f16 George. Furthermore, I'm sure it's about the look that Mr. Collister is trying to create for the motion picture - dynamic range, image quality, different focal lengths, etc. Not to mention the reliability of an epic when compared to something like an Si2k - a camera I positively despise and would never trust. I'm sure if it was just a family vacation of wing suit jumping he could just use a Gopro, but it doesn't sound like that's what he's looking for.

Why does Dragon represent shallow DOF? Slap a 24mm prime on and shoot at t/8 and you have all the DoF you want. What we are trying to do is not have it look like a GoPro... Now THERE IS infinite DoF there with a fisheye effect that is certainly not going to cut. The GoPro is an amazing camera but look at it on a 40 foot screen and the colorspace and look just doesn't cut it....

Dynamic range is not that wide for typical skydiving footage. (especially if you're utilizing narrow DoF).

I get the feelin today you woke up and said "i am gonna be a dick today"

its either that or you actually know nothing about what you are talking about.

Either way, shoot, fire all your 'dickness' over here if you like. You can PM me inane shit to your hearts content. Peter is trying to use the site to do some work, you are merely derailing.

I'm the dick ... and you're the guys putting epics on your heads ....

Two Epics on the wing-suite, one on top of a helmet and the other on a custom chest-mount.
I was 1st AC / focus puller on this project. The wing-suite stuff was shot in Norway...

Peter, very sorry to hear about the tragic loss.

Carbon Dragons would be amazing helmet cameras I'm sure. If you're finishing in 2K I would also maybe consider using the Codex Action Cam in conjunction as well. The 12bit RAW coming off these little guys is very nice. The 2/3 global shutter chips are actually pretty sweet for this kind of work as well. Dynamic range is good too. Just a thought :)

Thanks everyone. Peter, who was the wingsuit cameraman on the Atmel commercial?

And I have just been informed by our production manager that Arri Berlin has located 2 Carbons for me. I do appreciate the incredible rapid response and I will also research the Codex action Cam.
