Christopher,

What's the news on coverage for the Dragon sensor? I've been thinking about picking up a set for a while. Just not sure about coverage and their resale value to non RED Shooters.

Here you go Will: Red Pro Prime Dragon Coverage

I can vouch for the condition of this set. Got to look at them a couple months ago and they are very, very clean.

I'm not worried about Dragon coverage... I just bought them to have on hand if I ever needed some lenses for personal projects and specs... So they have basically gotten barely any use in the last 9 months. I tend to shoot a lot of anamorphic and/or Master Primes and I'm not about to buy a full set of those! So in a nutshell, I'm in no rush to sell them, but I'll offer them here should anyone want a really pristine set at my very fair asking price!

And thanks for the nod Phil!

One thing to consider when looking to purchase Red Pro Primes is that a lot of owners selling them are sole individuals and do not have readily available lens tech support... There is a reason lenses are serviced every time they come back from a job. Lenses require frequent maintenance to keep them working correctly and properly calibrated. Though my lenses looked and felt pristine when I purchased them and were VERY well cared for. They did require additional servicing to get up to proper operation. In fact, I went as far as to send my 35mm back to Red to take care of some gear-lash slop in the focusing mechanism... Focusing from infinity to say, 6 feet would come up, slightly short of 6', however, focusing from minimum to 6' would come up slightly LONG! I sent the lens in and was without it for several weeks while Red corrected the problem. That was a several hundred dollar service ticket that you may not realize you'll be incurring when you buy a set of these owner-operator lenses...

I maintain all of my gear at Camtec here in Burbank and have this set of RPPs DIALED IN...

Just a little sales pitch here... back to your regularly schedule gear-lusting...

Anyone interested can arrange a meeting to check them out in person if you are in LA...

There always seems to be new lenses popping up daily on this forum... In face, there are two other RPP sets currently up for sale... There's a set of 5 lenses which also in LA, but that set is in fact priced higher per-lens than what I'm offering these for... And then a set of 6 that's located in Poland that IS priced cheaper, but that set has a scratched 85mm and is based in Europe... Again, consider the service record, price and their location when selecting lenses online...

Christopher, this is an awesome price! These lenses are a bit underestimated in my opinion. They may not be perfect for every job or every situation, but as a set of PL cinema lenses I think they are a tremendous cost/performance ratio. And this is clearly a well maintained set, so someone should jump on this while they can. I would if I was in the market for a set of lenses in that price range.

Even though these lenses are a bit heavy, that shouldn't be much of a problem in normal shooting situations. And the cameras are getting smaller, lens mounts are built solidly, etc. So, not much of an issue in my opinion.

Steve, I definitely agree. We did a series of exhaustive tests at Camtec and Panavision profiling just about every cine lens sets ever made, from all of the Cookes Pancro SII, SII, S4 S5... all of the generations of Zeiss, Kowa, Balter, Canon, All of the Panavision glass... and the RPPs were among the top performers. I was shocked and immediately bought this set. For the money they are THE best bargain out there.

Good luck with your sale, Christopher. I have to add that my RPPs have been my single best cost-to-ROI, Red-based investment, having made their money back MANY times over in the last 4-5 years. They are rented out right now as I write this, have had few maintenance issues, and continue to find their way onto features and commercials month in, month out. My only knock is their weight, but otherwise a very solid investment. And I'm not a DP, I just rent them.

Dan

Shit Dan, you're making me want to just keep em! They are great lenses indeed. I have babied these and used them sparingly with the mind to keep them as minty as possible... Someone is going to be very pleased indeed.

Price LOWERED to $19,000.00... same cost as Red's used lenses, minus tax!

I am open to offers, but I'm also quite happy to keep these as well...

2 offers on the table below what I'm asking, best offer within the next few days (a week max) takes the set.
