NAB13- Scarlet Upgrade Program

I guess some anxiety may be coming from the 'executed' terminology... I had taken that to mean that the upgrade was a one time offer - i.e. pay up when its your turn or miss out.

Brent, am I reading your post correctly that if one were not to be in a position to go ahead with an upgrade its just a position in line thats lost, not the option to ever upgrade that camera?

Correct, "executed" means that the corresponding serial number is earmarked for that particular path. If you cancel order now due to lack of funds (or your SCARLET is on a shoot for a month, for example), you can re-place that same order with your rep later on as long as that particular program is still being performed by RED.

If you cancel and never re-order, it remains executed and cannot be used for other upgrade/trade-in paths.

Got it - 'other' future notional upgrade paths is the concept I had missed Cheers Brent. I was most concerned about the potential for a camera to be tied up long term or other unforseeable stuff.

I'm having such a hard time deciding without seeing what dragon is capable of. It would be nice to hear from Red how long they are going to offer the Scarlet to Epic upgrade. I would hate to wait for a couple more months then hear they shut it down...

My Bomb Squad Rep told me the deal with changing from Scarlet>Epic-D to Scarlet>EpicX>Epic-D today.
You would have to cancel the original order, buy Scarlet>EpicX upgrade (end of current line), then when you get ready for EpicX>EpicD buy that (end of line). So, yeah you lose your current Dragon position. Worth mentioning is that you can't order a RRX card at a discount until you order the Dragon, so you go to the end of that line too.
I wouldn't go this route unless it was really necessary.
