  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NAB13- Dragon Sensor Upgrade Program begins

Yeah but what I didnt know is that the price for the dragon was going to be almost identical to the price of the epic x. I thought it would be substantially more.

Just like the world of Apple, you have to pay attention to the events. You had to know NAB was coming. You took a risk buying it a month ago. But if you NEEDED it a month ago, then I assume it was worth the risk.

The thing that is SOOO bizarre to me is that Red actually offers upgrades of its products and STILL people complain about something. Not picking on you specifically Jonathan... but like I said, you need to pay attention to the events...

What about the person who just bought a brand new Rocket a month ago? With the new announcement, yes, they'll think they have a right to complain too. This is all just part of buying and using big boy (and girl) toys that have big boy costs associated with them.

Is dragon a global shutter or does that cost an extra $10,000 for the mount?

Answer on the floor was that rolling shutter will be the same between dragon and MX. Also that the fancy ND mount may or may not actually deliver a perfect glabal shutter.

Scarlet customers, we will be giving you the option to upgrade to the Epic M-X or directly to 6K DRAGON sensors and ASICs. Details will be announced tomorrow morning for upgrade pre-orders beginning on Thursday.

I realize the devil is in the detail, but the fact RED would be giving a path from Scarlet to Epic M-X is awesome! Not all of us will "need" (although we can lust over it) Dragon. Thank you Jarred!

I think this was being asked before: will the RPPs cover 6K? Also, is 5K a crop or downscale? And - when will red.com be live? My cmd-R keys will be worn out really soon...

Thank you

Thank you

Really excited for the upgrade path from Scarlet to Epic Dragon. Thank you for remembering the little guys. The Scarlet has performed very well for us but we are excited to join the big leagues.

I have been refreshing my screen for 1 hr 45 minutes, have to ho out soon!

I'm in the 18th hour of a 24 hour fast. This waiting has been really helpful in keeping my mind off of food. '-)

(Technically I'm in the 20th hour, but I've decided to push it to a 26 hour fast)

Has there been an official announcement for Scarlet path to Dragon yet? Or are we waiting on the website to come back up?
