  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NAB 2014

I remember when we started RED you could count the number of digital “cinema" cameras on the market on one hand.. and still have some fingers left over. Walking around the show floor this year, its pretty clear things have changed.

There's going to be a hell of a dust storm tomorrow.

However, the one thing I feel confident and safe saying is that Epic Dragon is the best digital cinema camera I have ever used. There was so much more involved than making this a simple sensor upgrade. You guys focused so much on the color and general natural look of how the Dragon sensor responds to a variety of conditions. Somehow Red made this thing feel very not digital.

My investment with you guys feels so very solid. A multi-format system producing better than film results.

Anybody not looking into shooting their features on Dragon would be insane. Now you guys have come up with more broadcast and user interface solutions that truly shows how much you listen to your customers as well as your critics.

Thanks for working hard and pushing that bleeding edge. It's the hardest realm to be in with the most to gain for both you as manufacturers and us as shooters.

Thank you guys... you really are family.

ok guys time to pretend to get some sleep... c u tomorrow.

Ha ha... This are the kind of posts I love most... I am not too techy about gear... I juts love to use it... And not worry too much about how it odes it... Only care that it does it!!

And DRAGON sure does it!!

See you in awhile buddy... RED has been my family and has helped me change and turn my life around and for this I can never say thanks enough or loud enough... Just hope that my imagery and perseverance in acquiring them... Will be proof enough of how much I care of what you guys have been doing and continue to do in giving us the tools to tell our stories... :)

As a customer, the freedom of choice just gets more and more complicated. But the one thing that is clear - our dedication and commitment to make the best cameras and sensors on the planet seems to be more important than ever.

The DRAGON continues to be the highest resolution camera with the most dynamic range in the smallest form factor, and now with DRAGONcolor it is also the camera with the best color science, all while shooting to the incredibly powerful, unbeatable REDCODE RAW. It is ONE camera that can do it all… and do it all incredibly well.

Right now our number one priority is taking care of our customers - and at the top of that list is getting Dragons into all of your hands.

We have a lot of great stuff to announce tonight but the biggest news is not the promise of the future, but the promise of today.

We are guilty of making you wait. And wait and wait and wait. And then wait some more. Taming the Dragon was truly the hardest thing we ever have done.

Now that we have, we just can’t seem to make them fast enough.

In the past few weeks we have wrestled with throwing out the stage process, narrowing the upgrade windows and/or bumping people that didn’t react quickly enough to upgrade notices.

We are not going to do any of that.

Instead, we are bringing in the reinforcements. Training an army to attack our manufacturing lines. It will take a bit to get everything in place... and it will cost us a hefty equipment investment to complete, but its going to allow us to get cameras out in record numbers, which means Dragons, both upgrades and new orders, will get in your hands sooner rather than later.

You guys have been the best customers a company could ever wish for.

In the end, that is all that really matters.

Thank you for choosing RED.

Now on to the fun stuff….

Bravo.

Jarred thanks for your state of the union.

Pretty sure the access to insider info on reduser has meant the quiet we've experienced is unnatural...but we all knew you and Red team were hard at work doing some cool stuff -as we can now see.

Jarred, thank you for your commitment to excellence. There is no other camera company or community I would want to be a part of.

I just wanted to say thanks, you guys rock! i am very excited about all the new announcements!
