  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NAB 2012...

Somehow this will be my first NAB. I'm 98% going for the Red booth and to see what you guys have rolled up your sleeves. Now that I'm a Red owner and pretty much shoot exclusively on Red these days; I'm very interested in future tech. And you guys really never disappoint.

That other 2% is purely for poker and the rest of NAB :)
 
This looks like a very interesting NAB for 4K alltogether... Sony's FS700, Canon's EOS 4K, Panasonic AF200 (4K?)
 
Would be nice to see or hear something more about a new Dragon sensor.

Also some major fixes like a EVF contrast finally enabled (blacks issue), a bit more frame rate sets for Scarlet enabled, REDMOTE wireless fix, etc,...

All other things are more or less obsolete like all that a 3D or 4K Hollywood marketing stories...

a fix for the 5" pro touch lcd stuttering... :-)
hdrx at 25 fps not only at 24 fps.
3k 50 fps not only 48 fps.

and: 2:1 and ws :-)

4K RED Laser Projector in a kind of OPEN AIR RED Desert Drive Inn 4K Cinema Las Vegas!!!

After all you would need always a local permission to play that such a monster size image outdoor anyway...

So maybe next year...not enough time to convince her...oh man, I wish I could go.
 
Last year it was a sprint race to the red booth...it was kinda funny...my colleagues and I were some of the first ones who got there...it was very entertaining to see all the other companies watch a herd of people running madly and going pass their booth just to get to RED...:yesnod:
 
Last year's NAB was disappointing which is why Im not making the effort this year and not falling for the hype.

Also, it would be much more fun if the booths made an effort to be more entertaining, taking the edge off
a show that is fast becoming a giant SMPTE seminar.
 
David....I do agree with you a little that last year was indeed disappointing and over hyped.... but unlike last year, there are plenty of exciting things to see this time...CS6, new zeiss lenses, new lighting equipment etc...
