  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Indeed. The first sensor employing Red's 3rd generation of sensor technology to be released will be called "Dragon" and it will be available as a hardware upgrade for Epics.

well the creature dragon is a monster anyway so makes sense..........................

They are currently offline, not broadcasting. Keep the window open and once they start broadcasting, it should appear.

Not any word on that yet,will have to wait and watch.....but i do faintly remember there was word 1and a half years back on the red one monstro upgrade.............lets see

Some of us want that. 14MP is just *barely* enough to pull stills from, and S35 is a pretty small sensor for photography use. Monstro (especially in the FF and YES, DEAR GOD, MF 645 size) can't get here soon enough IMO.

My sense is that RED's camera development group isn't quite as fast at shipping product as their sensor division. Epic-X is so late at this point that the sensor team will have the S35 Monstro sensor done and ready to ship before Epic-X even hits the streets to non-current RED customers.

I hope RED will keep the pedal to the medal on sensor development and offer upgrades to their newest sensors as soon as possible.
 
Yup a higher rez FF35 is where I want to be for the ultimate DSMC.

You mean the Red One body. I would say not likely, but you never know. A 4.5k Mostro might be easy enough for them to make...

There is so much more than resolution to be had from sensor tech development.
