  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NAB 2011 update...

Well, Joseph and I are in Vegas, our Epic American Tour, however not over yet, has only left us to shoot Vegas and the Grand Canyon, so we hope to see all of you at NAB,
we will be at the RED booth as well as around the floor, with Epic at end... Can't wait to see all the goodies... Oh and the Surprises of course... ;)

Nice Ketch, congrats for for the hard and glad word.
Hope to meet you in person.
Will be a pleasure.
Cheers mate!

Looking forward to meeting you all!

I'll be driving to Vegas from LA Hollywood area on the afternoon of the 10th (Sunday) in order to get some nice photos from the highway looking down on the glittering lights at around golden hour. Quentin mentioned possible car sharing in another thread but if anyone else want to share gas costs and/or motel costs on a twin share in Vegas let me know via PM!

Man, I'm so excited I won't be able to sleep tonight (which is now my time, since it's 0130 here in Tokyo right now!) :D

Cheers!

Paul :)

Film and Digital Times just had breaking news of the Red Press Conference on Monday Morning. All it states is time and that it is with band Pro, which is interesting...

Do you think Red just bought Leica and will announce it on Monday? Imagine if the next Red Pro Prime set turns out to be the new Summilux-C set.... only a tenth the cost and shipping in four months instead of two years from now!!! :O

Hey, a man can dream right?

Cheers!

Paul

This little press conference sounds cool, but the RED surprise sounds liek it's happening Tuesday afternoon. . . .

glad you liked the ep.

I was at RED yesterday, and Ted will be joining us on the post pit booth around 2pm on Tuesday to discuss the "red nab surprise" and give us the full details.

Mike

Can't wait to see the epic at NAB! Hope to meet some of you guys there. Cheers!

I hope Jim buys Leica. :)

I have been privately hoping it might happen. Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. I have absolutely inside info. I'm excited to hear what all of this is about, since Red and BandPro are two of my favorite companies.

I will only be at NAB on Monday, and I really hope I still get to see the 'Red surprise.' I assume Mike is talking about a discussion about the surprise, and not the actual unveiling of the surprise, which isn't until Tuesday at 2pm. Maybe I'm over thinking it. Nevertheless, I hope to see the "RED Surprise" Monday morning...but the "give us the full details" part worries me. :undecided:

Just a shameless plug for my friend Stew at camBLOCK. He's hosting demonstrations of the camBLOCK moco system at NAB in Vegas. I highly encourage everyone interested in motion control to come by and check out the system. It's extremely well suited to Epic, given the smaller size of the Epic vs the Red One.

He's doing demos at a suite at the Hilton Tuesday at 1pm and Wednesday at 10am. We will announce the Suite # soon. Contact Stew for more info: stew |at| camBLOCK.com

+1
The camBLOCK system is second to none! It's phenomenal! I recently had the opportunity to shoot with Stew and his camBLOCK system, and I've seen the light. Why bother with anything else? As you said Tom, it's akin to the RED camera.
Wish I could make it out to NAB this year! :frown:

Our small crew has embarked on a road trip (from Dallas, Texas) that will culminate at NAB with the sole purpose of (finally, after following this space for so long) meeting all the people who have inspired us and have been generous enough to share their knowledge and passion for filmmaking. Thank you, Jim, Jarred, and the whole RED team for infecting us with the RED bug since I joined this forum more than three years ago.

See you soon!

Fabián

Does anyone know of any sites providing in-depth coverage?

Edit: Or better yet, NABapp friend codes of people interested in sending some updates?

Now *that* would be awesome/insane. The best camera paired with the best lenses.
