  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NAB 2011 update...

ABout $50 for 5 days at the Riviera, price was last Nov..McDonalds was free...

Wifi is big business in Vegas... the only place you're likely to find it for free is at the McDonald's on the strip (!) or along the edges of the convention center and the "Wifi cafe" at NAB. They will also have several wired computers setup at various places around NAB that will allow you to check email, print tickets, etc. but you are limited to about 5 minutes and there's usually people breathing down your neck to get their turn.

There's always cell phone tethering...

I'm thinking about planning an unofficial REDUser party during the show. I was thinking Wed. night would be the best for everyone?

Now, get a penthouse suite for the night and charge a cover or just have everyone meet up at a bar or somewhere free...?

send me a PM with your choice & what night works best for you as the subject so we don't clog this thread.

If there is enough interest ill start an official unofficial thread

Unfortunately I will be unable to attend NAB due to work commitments. I will miss seeing all of you out there and I'll let others continue the tradition of gathering the community for a party. Hope you all post lots of pictures and video so I at least get a sense of what it's like this year. Also, I need you guys to keep me in the loop of any of the big suprises, whether it's RED or other cool toys. Of course, I have no doubt that there will be plenty of news and discussion on Reduser. If anyone is livestreaming, I'll keep an eye out for a link.

Have not heard of any Red gathering but I hope there is one.

Wish it was an April Fool's joke but it isn't. Have a few drinks on my behalf and enjoy the craziness that is NAB.

I was thinking that it would be a nice surprise at NAb if all Red One owners registered for a drawing for one Stage Two and One Stage Three to be offered out of sequence with full payment delivered at the show. That would make two people leap frog out of their minds!

Now that would be a surprise!

I had one of those PXL-2000's - I loved it. Amazing for 1987 and audio cassettes.
 
Ok here is my 2 cents worth.
I think the surprise is that everyone gets Bomb EVF's. They keep trying to fill back orders with a viewfinder that may be difficult to make now and it would be easier to just upgrade everyone and then deliver to everyone with in 2 months after NAB... well we can all dream
