  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

NAB 2011 update...

Jim I'm going to be flying in from the Dominican Republic to LA, and then driving from LA to Vegas ... PURELY because this is cinema history, something I wouldn't miss for the world.

You have to register and at least get an exhibits pass so you can walk through the trade-show. There are free registration codes to be had online if you look around Many vendors at the show will have registration codes to give out.

With your registration, you get a badge to wear. It's traffic monitoring at it's finest. Vendors will want to scan your badge so they can put your info on junk email lists and such. Larger vendors like to have pretty girls at their booths to lure you in and get that badge scanned. However it seemed that with the economic slump the quality of booth "talent" was lacking at the show last year.

Oh well its Vegas Im sure there's plenty of that around. I just want to see the RED TALENT ;)
 
is this something we can put money down on? Can I send money with someone else or do it via the internet? I'll be in China and won't be able to make it. But I have friends going.
 
I'll be there, bright and early.. Surprise being leaked? This suggests it involves a 3rd party. If last year's surprise was Peter Jackson in 4K, I guessing this year will be Peter Jackson in subatomic K (real life).

The Conferences seem mostly to do with Broadcast stuff and they are
rather pricey...the "exhibits" is the trade show floor with booths set up
by all the companies. 'the event' is what Red will unveil at their booth.
Use the code above and you can get an exhibits only pass for free.
 
I'm Planning to fly Van Nuys ( KVNY ) to Vegas on the 12th for one day if any LA based Red Users want to catch a ride and share costs. 6 seat Piper Saratoga, flight takes 90mins. PM me if you are interested.
