NAB 2011 update...

Yes, My friend and I stayed at the Imperial Palace

Yes, My friend and I stayed at the Imperial Palace

Last year for NAB, & RedUser. There is a monorail station at the back of the Imperial Palace/Harrah's. Not a bad experience, just very confusing hallways! - Wish I could be there this year for Scarlet.

I stayed at the Riviera last year. Walked out the back door to the Conv. floor. It was about a 3 min walk.

I actually can not believe that you would put yourself thru such Agony, having to hold on to a secret for this long Jim, ha ha.

That's probably the best part because then everyone is so hyped when the info is released. Or better yet most people end up underestimating what the actual surprise is so when we see it, it's that much better!

My hotel recommendations for NAB and such tend to go towards the monorail hotels. Simply put, the monorail system is really convenient compared to getting a taxi or trying to park personal or rental vehicles. MGM is my favorite because it's a good hotel, rooms are nice, and you can find the monorail easily.

Next up would be Bally's, a classic and favorite. Connects to the Paris hotel so that adds a lot of entertainment and convenience factor.

Tropicana and Harrah's seem to be solid, I haven't stayed at either one myself but friends of mine had no complaints.

My best friend stayed at Imperial Palace for New Years and didn't like it at all.

Probably my favorite hotel just for room and vacation atmosphere has to be Venetian, it used to be Bellagio, but with the expansion project, Venetian just offers more these days.

I really like the Wynn, never stayed there but the family and I seem to go there for lunch and dinner whenever we head towards the strip. See celebrities there quite a bit as well.

I can't help with a lot of the older hotels like the Golden Nugget. But my advice still is to stick to hotels that are either connected or adjacent to the monorail system.

For convenience we have booked a signature room @ Rivera.
NAB is almost at its backyard.
Hope I will not regret it:)
We'll be there from the 10-15 if anyone wants to get in touch.
See ya in Vegas!

Boy, am I having a hard time deciding which hotel to stay at. I stayed at the Tropicana last year to be close for Red Day.
This year, I think I'd like to be nearer the Convention Center and/or tram.
Anyone stay at the Flamingo? Imperial Palace? Sahara? Gold Nugget?

Gold Nugget puts you in downtown Las Vegasf (Fremont St), you will need to take a taxi to the convention center. Sahara has been getting poor reviews. Riviera seems to balance price with quality if you want to stay reasonable close to the convention center and the mono rail. Stardust is another possible.

You can't go wrong at the Riviera. Won a lot of money there :) It's close to everything.

Yeah....I did pretty good at the Riviera last year. Like I said...its a really short walk.

Okay, Riviera is lookin' good.
Hey, is there going to be a Red party? I was signing up for the Final Cut Supermeet and there's a link to the 2011 Red party, but the website is still set up for the 2010.

Great! I'll look into booking there. I actually stayed out of town last time and drove in daily.

Coming all the way from China can't wait to hear the surprise and see all the awesome new gear I have to buy and finally meet the RED crew.

This will be my first NAB as well!!! Look forward to meeting lots of Redusers! Is the surprise going to be there all week or just the first day?

Aack my first Vegas trip and I got Circus Circus.
Any tips for a newbie :)

Circus aint that bad. Right across the street from the Riviera. OT.....Don't wast your time visiting the Gold and Silver Pawn Shop (Pawn Stars). We stood in line to get in the door for about 20 minutes. Its just a damn pawn shop! :) Breakfast at the Riviera is pretty good. The omelet cook kicked ass last year. Sorry for rambling.....

We did see a lady win over $400K on a .25 slot at Riviera!! HOLY CRAP! That's a lot of RED Gear!
