So, where can we see the DiCaprio footage everyone is talking about?

Is it possible to have 13 stops with 12-bit sensor?
It's not a 12 bit sensor it's a 12 bit ADC. You can have 1,000 stops in a 12 bit adc you just lose a little bit of precision in each stop.
Same way you can squeeze 13 stops in an 8 bit tiff.
This is all very cool. The coolness and surprises are very routine by this point, but nonetheless, exciting.
I must have missed something, what is this "RED Studios Hollywood" being mentioned?
To say the noise floor has been lowered is really an understatement. From the footage that was shown today and played around with by Michael from Lightiron it seems as if there is no noise floor. We had the cameras pushed all the way up to ISO 6400 and it looked awesome. There was no pattern noise. The only thing I saw was noise that looked like film grain. The new sensor is truly amazing.
Is it possible to have 13 stops with 12-bit sensor?
Neil Smith and his crew from Hollywood DI supervised an over/under shoot to confirm the dynamic range of the new Mysterium-X sensor. Charts were lit in a properly controlled light booth at D50. An engineering build was used with a slight calibration issue. Results clearly showed 13 stops with more room available given a proper calibration. We will re-shoot and post results as soon as the calibration issue is resolved. We fully expect a meaningful increase once this is done.
The noise floor of the new sensor is pretty incredible. I'll let those that have seem it post their opinion since we showed plenty of examples tonight at the new RED Studios Hollywood.
