  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

My Scarlet will arrive tomorrow!

you can read plenty of comments against RED here in France ... like this one ...
and trust we are a bunch of RED defender trying to fight hard against these people who clearly know RED's weaknesses and throw it up to the top of the mountain...to show that to everybody
And when you ask them, how do you find the quality or the image ... they say I don't care they are not professional and I stick with Arri...
The problem is they bring with them all other "old generation" DP, OC,... who are making nice and bad weather in the cinema industry here ...

ohh, yes if you dont mind Jon. I am waiting to hear back on my touch as well. It has gone in an out of backorder the past couple days, and when I ordered last week it was in stock. I think it may be fluctuating as orders get processed by people (reps) and not computers (initial order). Good for you both!

Just wanted to say hello Trevor. Good to see you around hear. I was around the redrock forums oh about 3 years ago maybe, you helped me a lot with my M2e questions. Those days were so exciting to see that image, they dont seem all that far back; crazy how we have ended up here =].

Just as a reference, I ordered my accessories on the 8th of November (SO-0053271) and it's still listed as "Open Order"

Touch LCD was listed as in stock when I ordered, but I know that can't always be accurate, especially with the heavy volume of orders they received after the 3rd. Hoping Jon can shed some light on this for us with his SO# :)

Yeah same here Trevor, not too sure on that LCD, but I hope good things. Last thing I want is a Scarlet built in my house with no way to use it. I wonder what the factory settings are. Granted format will be needed to record, but at best an image on my Small HD to play around =].
 
How do you what's being shipped? I also got a Fedex email, but on my Red.com account, under Status, it reads "Open order", even for orders that I already received!

Check your tracking number on the FedEx website and look at the weight. If it's around 15lbs then it's a Scarlet. That's how I knew.
 
!!!! that reminds me of people who don't want to do an eco on their coming babies and guesstimate males from females upon the weight of the mother!

but why doesn't the Status change to "In transit" o "Shipped" even with already delivered products?!

so I checked: 2 lbs, how does that qualifies as ?! Maybe I should check my oracle....

The status will change.

The LCD is 4lbs so it's something else... :)
 
Lucky you !! :) My Epic still didnt arrived .. its almost over 2 weeks I paid.. how much usually takes ? any help ? Every time I ask the rep says its already processed ! I may end up losing a job ...
 
Brandon, congrats! Very happy for you. May you film many great things with it.

Bart, and others. The heart of a community like this is to support each other, encourage each other. Those comments seem to fly in the face of that. Being critical when appropriate is fine, if it's a constructive comment meant to help someone. Not sure these comments you have made qualify as such. Why rain on Brandon's parade? I embrace what Brandon and other's are doing. Not for me to say it's a bad financial decision for them to buy a camera. Everyone has different set of circumstances, and are driven by different things. How do you know what they have for client base? How do you know what their financial situation is? Remember, respect for fellow filmmakers goes a long way to finding your own success. I'm happy for Brandon right now because I'm sure he can't wait to get out and create, and that's what it's all about right, whether you do it for money, for the love of filmmaking or for all of the above.
