Just wrapped a 5 day shoot using MX-13.
I must say I was more than impressed.
First day was all interior.
Inside of a crusty dive bar called "The Baranof"
The bar is solely lit by a collection of multi colored Christmas, rope, neon, and diffused low wattage practical lights with a bunch of nets, old buoys and such as decoration. It's a great place!
Using the old sensor we would have had to use much larger fixtures in order to achieve a decent exposure inside the bar.
Those larger lamps would have blasted so much light into the scene that the nicely colored practicals wouldn't have hardly played in the scene.
But we had MX!!!
All we used the whole day was a tweenie (650w), a mini mole (200w) and a 2X4 kino to supplement what was already there and we were astounded by the results.
This is the camera I've been yearning for. Yes yearning, YOu know that feeling you get when there isn't enough stop. Your as lit as your going to get, shooting WFO, trying to push the sensitivity up with the powers of your mind. Nothing happens except that your hand reaches for the ISO button and checks the image noise when the ISO is pushed...nope, not gonna do it!...Yea, you know the feeling...
Not with MX Sensor! this thing is insano-
I don't really post here that much, but I think this is big step for digital cinematography and I am so happy to be using this tool to do the things I couldn't do before.
