Hi everyone, hoping this is just a case of user error or something, but I've never encountered an issue like this on a camera before. Got my Komodo yesterday and was thrilled to test it out. First lens I tried was the Vazen 28mm in RF mount. Noticed the left side of the frame was weirdly blurry but attributed it to the lens. Then today I tried out a Contax Zeiss 35-70 using the Canon EF to RF speedbooster and the exact same issue is there. Did I get a faulty unit with a bad mount? Has anyone else encountered this problem? Everything snaps into place fine and feels very secure, no play that I can detect.

Just an update in case anyone sees this thread and is curious: it turns out this vignetting and blur on the left hand side of the image was somehow caused by the cage housing the camera. I have no idea how since it did not come in contact with the mount or lens at all and the cage fit it securely and without issue, but removing it immediately removed the vignetting. There is still some slight softness on the left side of the image now but you have to pixel peep to really notice it, hopefully the cage didn't somehow damage anything.

Another update: removed the name of the cage manufacturer since no one else has reported an issue with it and it was likely user error, but I think the specific point where this happened was the top left screw that secures the cage to the corresponding hole on the top left side of the Komodo. When I attempted to remount the cage that specific screw no longer goes in properly and doesn't screw in at all, and I also noticed some wear from when it was previously attached. So something went wrong there. I've switched to a top handle mounted directly on the camera now and no issues.

That's very interesting. Very, very uncommon for the cage to be the issue, but I can imagine a scenario where that can happen.

Generally if you see issues on lenses like this and you know they cover it's related to a matte box or screw on filter slightly blocking the light.

I had no idea a cage could do this. Is the cage putting uneven pressure across the komodo, causing enough twisting force to throw the sensor off?

Are you sure?

Would be interesting to see some charts shot with and without the cage screwd on.
