Shot by Florian Hoffmeister and serviced by Dino

Directed by David Koepp and staring Johnny Depp and Gwyneth Paltrow

This was especially special to me as not only was it incredible to watch Florian work to create some spectacular images, but this is also the film where Dino introduced me to the incredible man behind Fool Control, Mikael Lubtchansky.

Very nice indeed!

I hope you guys like this...it was a riot to work on!

As an update we also just shot a Pilot for Amazon on the Dragon in Austin, that will air on Amazon Prime in a few weeks...he is a very talented DoP and it was a pleasure working with him. I only did the L.A. portion of the movie, the bulk of the film was shot in London with Joe Steele as the DIT.

enjoy,

Great work Dino, EPIC still looks amazing.

Thanks Florian for indirectly connecting me with Dino and Jarred :-)

And thanks to everyone at RED for the amazing support especially to Dave Winder, Trent, Jon F, Brent, Graeme, Jim, Sean, Matt, Jeroen, Michael R., Sam, Alan, Breanne, Ivan, Stephen, Dan, Chantel, and all those I forgot to name here !

Looking forward to meeting some of you again at IBC...

I say old chap, it looks like Johnny Depp's character is modelled on the old British actor/comedian Terry Thomas. Space between the teeth isn't as pronounced though. Looks like a fun ride.

The whole movie was shot on Epic MX? Wow it looks amazing, and some excellent grading. Since "Grace of Monaco" had somewhat similar stylized warm look, I was fooled this too is 35mm film show. Great to see more digitally shot features using anamorphics, especially vintage (or vintage-looking) lenses. For that kind of project its just perfect.

Vadim: 99% Epic MX, there are some night scenes in LA that we used an Alexa on, but none of those have shown up in the teaser. so everything you see in the teaser is Epic MX.
