  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

more renders...

So, what can be said about the flip-up LCD monitor attached in this configuration? Size? Other specs?

It's the same clip-on design that RED considered offering back in the beginning of the year. Essentially a variant of the Arri LMB-5. It was cancelled shortly after NAB along with the larger swingaway unit.

Maybe they're back, maybe not. Perhaps the're still in the files on the rendering software and Jim would like to show the configurations with matteboxes attached. Do you think they'd spend the time and effort to render up someone else's mattebox instead? RED isn't here to sell Arri, Red Rock or anyone else's product.

I agree with you Mitch,

all the rendering look beautiful in their presented configuration with the MB's and yes would be counterproductive to render ARRI's or RR MB's if RED was to make their own, but if theweren't then they could have easily done so any way, but I think there is always the copyright factor to consider, and for that as well they wouldn't have put a rendering of any other manufacturer's product.

I admit that I'm for one happy to see the RED MB line come to life, but if not for my current flow of and business direction I would have to go with Arri.

Lets see what unfolds...

ciao

Jim,

I'm in awe of what you've done on the Epic/Scarlet design. Congratulations on an awesome design and taking modularity to a whole new level. You guys listen and it shows!

One note... I only see one set of pins for intelligent lens support on the Epic PL mount. Since this is a whole new design, why not include pins for both positions so you could support Arri LDS lenses as well? Hopefully by then, the software support could be there???

Sorry to nag, but it would make the system all the more flexible and useful for VFX.

hey Mark.. i think your the only guy left that keeps bugging us about ARRI pins :)

at any rate.. having 2 sets of pins on the PL mount isn't necessary with a modular mount system.. if demand ever is high enough, we can look into making a ARRI-pin PL mount.

For businessman...11.05 pm is nothing. But Jim, take care of your health, nothing is more important than that :)

Love the new EVF design , awesome

Hey now... Pawel just brought it up the other day, I know others have, including me, at times. :)

It would be a nice option at some point. However, I have yet to find a way to buy those Master Primes, so it's somewhat of a fantasy for me anyway.

Jarred, I am the second guy. This makes a bunch of us... so, when can we expect the LDS support?
