  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

More HDRx...

I think, for me and perhaps some other people also, this 'Two Tracks' need some extra explanation. But this will come I suppose...

Two tracks gives you ultimate flexibility. But what really matters is that you have more range than any camera ever made.

Now you can see why we want to put this in ALL our cameras!

Jim

Totally! Not just the name "HDRx", but the qualities it will entail seem to be something that will be part of RED's branding. That's why it's so crucial fir it to be seen in all of RED's products.

I said it earlier today, but I'll say it again for everyone else to read:

I'd bet the majority of people who are griping weren't ever gonna be a
RED customer to begin with. The small minority who are saying they
changed their minds about buying the Scarlet, due to the small rise in
cost will change their minds once more after seeing how truly magical
HDRx Magic Motion is.

I'll even go further. Some who hate RED and were planning to not get the Scarlet out of spite, will see the HDRx to irresistable to boycott. Just sayin'...

Good footage, that lens looked wider then 17mm

I realize I should be posting this elsewhere (in the Scarlet area, say), but for a little perspective vis-à-vis the new pricing on the Scarlet, look at comparative pricing below for cameras with -

1) essentially smaller sensors
2) no RAW capture
3) certainly no HDRx™

Canon XH-G1s $6,099.99
Canon XL-H1s (PAL) $8,999.00
JVC GY-HD250U1/3” CCD (16x Fujinon lens)
$5,995.00
Sony PMW-EX1R 1/2” sensor $6,299.00
Sony DSR-400L 2/3-Inch(2.5-Inch Color LCD Screen and 17x IF Lens) $11,992.00

My goal was to build a worthy replacement for film. That meant with regards to resolution, dynamic range and "feel". "Social Network" has shown that the "resolution and feel" are there. As far as dynamic range... there is now nothing close.

why would you want or need to go any higher?

My face split in the biggest grin when I just saw this in motion. Thanks again.

the film just dead earlier before monstro came out...

I can't tell you how dark it was inside the barn. It was soooooo dark compared to what we were looking at outside. Peter and Mick were convinced that there was no way to hold the outside. Both have 25+ years of experience.

A-FREAKIN-MAZIN'!

I was dreaming out loud to my wife the other day. Imagine packing an Epic, zoom, SSD, a couple of batts, a 100mm bowl tripod, some radio mics and a couple of actors on a plane to... where the fuck ever. The ultimate multination road movie on a shoestring. No carnets, no boxes and boxes of gear, no lighting truck. A handful of people and a camera bag in the overhead locker. I am literally freakin' out here!

Looks really nice :-) Very Kodak EXR like.

What about exposure tools, have your teem been thinking about how to represent the normal image and the extension in falsecolor or the histogram.?
