I have always loved B&W, this is why I was one of the very first to o a shoot in B&W on the R1 with my buddy Blair, for the short of Garbo.

Problem is that I no longer I can afford the luxury of time, meaning that I am lucky when I can go shoot something this days, but I definitely no longer have the hours ot spend in Photoshop to work on my images as I used to, and even so I do love Silver X PRO, as in my opinion renders incredible B&W form a good RGB image, now with the arrival of my Monochrome, I can really go out and shoot for B&W., as I know I'll need little to no time on Photoshop/Silver X Pro, really can't wait to see my own results on the to =n of stuff I have to shoot with it... ;)

I agree with you about Silver X PRO Ketch i love it also. But theres nothing better than responding to people places and events with it in camera.

Edit: Sorry not talking to you again

Edit 2: Sorry ;)

He he, I got it now, the not talking to you again, part that is... ;)

And yea, this is exactly what I ma talking about, been able to get it in camera, means not having to share the acquired info with other channels, and there for applying the light source directly to main sensor, without pre-filtration and separation splits, hence giving the insanely sharer more dynamic image with far richer blacks and with absolutely stunning highlights, the whites is what I care for the most, even so of course I also look forward to see the purest Blacks with little noise as possible.

Truth is I almost bought a Monochrome Epic M as soon as the immediate moment it was announced, I just could not allocate the funds to it form my personal account, so my Christmas came early and truly wonderfully much less expensive thanks to Jim & Jarred, so to thank them even more, I'll make a special Video of how I use the Monochrome, and why, and also how I use lighting to expose my image, and how I keep my Histogram and why, hopefully bringing as much info as possible to those that don't know the camera as well, and to all of those NEW Epic owners coming to be... ;)

I look forward to the video Ketch that would be really useful and great to see.
Good work mate ;)

Hey im 300 :party:For Sparta...... lol

Looking forward to seeing what you shoot with it. I have always loved black and white and would love to see a re-birth of the artform. By the way, it was obvious you where going to grab the Monocrome Epic and not wait, no matter how hard you tried to save the funds for the Meizler Module. Good for you! I'm sure it will be just a short time before you have both.[h=3][/h]

Thanks guys, and I promise, having already put aside some time, I'll not disappoint you, some great Monochromatic stuff is coming, and with it, probably my best "BTS" & "How to" video ever, an other small token of appreciation for the support, both RED and all of you guys have given me thru this past years, Thanks you... ;)

Classy image Jim, the smoken girl. ;) So if 2000 is native then you feel 3600 is useable or beyond? Do you feel dragon will be around this spot as well? What is the DR on this beast? Sorry if this has been answered before. Keep em coming!

Thanks Jake, already booked a Videographer and a photographer, for the BTS Videos and Photos of the shoots which will make up the video form beginning to end, few locations already set, and couple of models too, few more to look for, which will all be done in the next few days, so that as soon as Mr. Monochrome arrives we'll be ready to shoot... ;)

The Still frames and Videos should start uploading with love few days after that.

Do you have a place to post all this great stuff? Heh Heh...;)

hmm I got some FD lenses with BW filters built in like the canon FD 15mm I wunder how those red and yellow filters would treat the monocrome. As I was thought they where used to improve the dynamic range of Black and white photos, or no?
