This guy was WAY harder that I expected. Pre-production/Certification units over next week or two - mass shipping end of January - which is also known as ... sexy French / Italian for early Feb. 2017. Best to pre-order asap.

This little bugger looks like it turned out very nice Mark. I'm doing a bit more captured audio in camera and would love the additional limiters here.
 
Is this actually doing AD conversion, or is that done by the camera? Are you able to disclose the brand/specs of the pre-amps?
 
Question on the AES front: the original RED Pro I/O module would take 96K AES and sample-rate convert it to 48K. Does your AES interface do the same?
 
Mark - are there any specs on weight or power usage? Does the top plate option provide some stabilization? Is the top plate compatible with the Red side handle, and the 7" top monitor and the Red EVF -- probably not a problem but wanted to confirm.

Hey Mark, that power port near the bottom is a 4-pin LEMO, correct? So, I can plug the RED A/C power adapter into it and power the camera from an outlet? If so, that's awesome - I never purchased the RED Base Expander, so the OMOD XLR will fill several needs at once.

Looks awesome! Looking forward to seeing some production units in hands of users. Interested in knowing more about the preamps and how much better the sound will actually be over in-camera audio.
 
I've pre-ordered this on Oct 1. The final product pic definitely looks more badass than the pre-vis render/prototype. Can't wait to receive mine.
 
pre-ordered via CVP in the UK. Now it's a race to see which gets here first - this or the Scarlet!

Quick question - Does the Red DSMC2 V-LOCK BATTERY MODULE fit on the back of it? I keep seeing the WC back being recommended for it.

Hello Mark,
Wondering if the snazzy preamps in the new beast bypass the in camera preamps, or just shape the signal to be further, preamped as it were. RED's own box, the DSMC Revolt Expander seems to be little more (in the audio department anyway) than a very expensive A-Box.
 
I pre-ordered the OMOD XLR in December. I noticed on the website that deliveries now say March instead of February. Can I still expect my delivery in February?
