The new sensor is still using Bayer pattern, so even in 5k or more, it wil still look slightly "soft" (like in "not over-sharpened") when viewed at a 1:1 pixel ratio. To my eye, the image is soft. I had to do a very high amount of sharpening in photoshop to get it looking right. I am guessing that the OLPF is the culprit. As with the Red One, I feel that the anti-aliasing may be too aggressive. I would love to see how the same image looked with a slightly lighter OLPF.
Your idea of 'right' sure ain't mine.To my eye, the image is soft. I had to do a very high amount of sharpening in photoshop to get it looking right.
That image ain't 'soft' as in 'lack of resolution'. Look at the detail of the feathers and the hairs on the skin.
I'ts just not oversharpened.
Do you really believe that's soft? Thatt's a 1:1 crop with a little sharpening applied.
For a CMOS sensor, the detail here is simply astounding.

I assume that the 2/3" Scarlet will have a lighter OLPF. Right?
Pixel size and pixel pitch on the 2/3" sensor is the same as on the S35 5K sensor, so probably not.I assume that the 2/3" Scarlet will have a lighter OLPF. Right?

2/3" Scarlet has 3.3u pixels, Mysterium-X S35 has 5.4u pixels and Monstro is 6.0u.
