Meet Charlie..

[Rick Darge]

Jarred,

Kickass new avatar, hahah

[Rick Darge]

We still have a lot to do before EPIC is ready to ship. Don't plan on tomorrow.

Jim

Please take your time. I just picked up a brand new camera last week and still need time to get to know it

[David Battistella]

sure

Nice. Thanks!

[Eirik Tyrihjel]

I really really love how you pull this off and at such an incredibly low datarate, RC28 for 5K 2:1 is nothing short of amazing! it is the wonders of REDCODE RAW that makes RED smoke the competition!
There is an old saying that compression is bad, and RED is slowly but surely killing this myth, it might have been true 10 years ago, but with REDCODE RAW compression is your friend!
This image really convinces me that you have something serious cooking (yet again)!
Congratulations!

I also agree with the above, take your time and get it right, our M-X is right around the corner and we can play with that for a while, while we wait.

Love that poster. I'm keeping that one on my computer!

[Mark L. Pederson]

This is just the coolest picture ever.

It's ALIVE!

I'm flashing back to NAB 2006 when lots of folks laughed ....

[Jay Gannon]

[Michael McVicar]

So is Charlie the name of the bird or the camera?

[Andy Jarosz]

Great job guys, you've come a long way!

[Jon B.]

This is great, we really do appreciate the fun and excitement everyone at RED provides!! It takes time to develop just like a good movie... and it's great to feel like we're on the cutting edge with you.

cheers to the hard work!

[Graham Foulkes]

Very exciting ,

[Mohammed El Sharqawy]

EPIC prototype.. at last..
we are here watching the advancements of the camera production a bit by bit waiting a long time for each thing to happen.. and slowly slowly it happens.. its good to happen..
god give us patience and gives you strenth..

the image quality is as promised from the older turtle sample image.. very nice grain texture buried deep in the image.. I loved this canvas look of horizontal and vertical delayed lines.. giving this digital image a unique feel that no other medium can deliver..

but I really loved the picture with epic prototype inside more..

[Ryan S]

Hi Charlie. You're iridescent.

The RC28 factor is impressive. I didn't think we'd have access to 5K below RC42. Slick.

[Eryc Tramonn]

i see your fill reflector has 24 ribs.

Nice!

-sc

on edit: Jarred just posted that set-up pic while i was composing my post... I was, of course, counting from the amazing detail in the eye reflection...

no way, dude. Really?

[Tony Lorentzen]

That would be incredible.. but quite honestly, if anyone ( who knew me ) ever agreed to loan me a Siberian Tiger, they should be locked up

I hear Mike Tyson has a few tigers (among them a white Bengali Tiger). Maybe you could give him a call? :001_rolleyes:

[Häakon]

Pretty! So...When will we see scarlet prototype footage?

It's Redcode 28 and not at a high framerate, so effectively, you have.

[Paolo Tinari]

the B2Pro umbrella in the photo above is the small one

Briese...

Btw, surprized to see such a good looking working proto

[Corrado Silveri]

Time to celebrate.

[Philipe Ratton]

Amazing !!!
The forum is a little slow and you come up with a test like this. Awesome !
Just remember, dont eat Charlie !
Beautiful animal, beautiful camera, cant wait
