Bringing screen legend Malcolm Mcdowell to Colorado in mid-May to be featured in my film MIND'S EYE - shot on RED, of course.

...I will be attaching a few more great names, too, but this screen legend has me so excited, I had to share it. He will be flying in from Europe, where he is on tour for the Warner Bros. 40th anniversary release of A CLOCKWORK ORANGE. Then he will fly out from Colorado to continue the tour. I am humbled that he is making this tremendous effort to participate in the film.

If the gods smile upon my production, we will be shooting one of the central scenes on an Atom rig with a pair of EPIC-X cameras.

I surely would never have developed the desire to take on a big feature film project like this, on my own, without the inspiration of Jim and the RED team, who are always thinking bigger. And the RED users, too, who inspire me daily with so many outstanding achievements, all while helping me to make better images.

More names and news coming, but I had to share this one. I think Malcolm Mcdowell is a magician - a real alchemist whose presence not only transforms a character but whose character can transform a film.

And I'll be needing a sprinkle or two of fairy dust to maestro this thing! So much to do.

I have worked with Malcom and he was great fun and a true professional who can give a kick ass and compelling performance in any circumstance.

that is great to hear, Tom -

I am not usually a big celebrity follower, but there is definitely something about MM which fires my imagination...it is his magical, wizard-like quality.

Very excited.

Wow, Meryem... Congrats!

Meryem, here's hoping your problems are all small ones.

thanks JC and Jeff -

I'm way overdue to give you a call, Jeff - maybe we can all play together a bit on this one...Erik is in, as an actor.

Meryem, call me if you need a rockin' AC or something! Congratulations!

I will, Jon, thanks! - so much talent in this fine state...

...stepping down from the adrenalin buzz of signing my first round draft pick to pull the next ace out of my sleeve...this one is special, though.

engine room, more steam!

Congratulations Meryem.

Malcolm was the star in one of my all time favorite little seen movies O Lucky Man!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/O_Lucky_Man!

A strange movie - Usually given 4 star reviews, but never made it in US - saw it at the college auditorium weekend movie.

Goes back a ways - Helen Mirren starred as the twenty something, rich girl band groupie! :-) also a great soundtrack by Alan Price whose band is woven throughout the movie. If you haven't seen it, take a look - theres a 40th anniversary DVD - then you can drop some obscure o lucky man trivia on Malcolm when he's there.

thanks for the tip, Michael - I always love seeing really good movies that never got the recognition they deserve...when I was teaching film history at the University, I used to teach a class called "Forgotten Films" - it was one of my favorite teaching experiences ever.

I hope this little film of mine finds a little traction!

Congratulations, Meryem! That's welcome news for your production, I'm sure. Do you think we could get something of a progress log of your experiences with EPIC?
