  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

MALCOLM MCDOWELL attached to my feature film - thanks RED team!

Congrats Meryem! This sounds super exciting. Being a huge Kubrick fan, I always thought Malcolm McDowell's performance in A Clockwork Orange showed the guy as a true star capable of such great work. It must be so exciting to have an actor like that available to help you realize the full potential of your project. Best of luck and keep us posted!

Cheers,

Omar

Hey,

Congrats! Worked with Mr. McDowell on a film out here in Oregon. He is an amazing actor. Although during a Red Drive reload I do remember him clowning on digital saying something like "throw another chip in that camera". But when you've done what he's done you can make fun of these new fangled contraptions.

Anyways, hope the film goes well, congrats again on landing such an amazing talent!

We kicked off principal photography on Monday for MIND'S EYE, and the RED ONE MX footage looks amazing. As usual -

(Imagine how much more amazing it could look on the EPIC-M, please please please send me my camera, RED! I know you're busy and swamped and all, but I could sure use another lighter camera on my set...with a third camera, I'd be shooting, too, instead of sitting on my arse doing producer-ly paperwork and watching the rest of the camera team having all the fun! The producer is twitchy to shoot something!)

We had my RED ONE #1008 loaded up on the Condor Cam yesterday: http://twitpic.com/52i1vg

We'll be putting up new behind-the-scenes photos daily on our Twitter site: http://twitter.com/#!/MindsEyeMovie

I'll put up some stills when I get a day off -

Can't believe I'm already wrapped: the fun's just starting! (Hope I done good.)

Please remember me at the wrap party; I'd really like to buy a round for everybody ...

Masallah :)

You did a great job Mr. Otis, errr Erik!

Day 4 wrapped: all day long on car rigs. Some handheld car interiors, o EPIC where art thou....

doesn't matter, the footage looks amazing.

Thanks to RED, I did get my lovely EPIC-M in time to shoot a bunch of HDRx footage - will post some when I get a chance to process footage, but right now I'm so busy with running the production, it would be tough.

HDRx is as good as I expected. I would like to get my movie wrapped so that I can spend a lot of time with this feature. And all of the juicy -M features. It is a truly revolutionary camera. Truly amazing what RED has achieved.

My EPIC is having an audio issue, but I won't be able to send it in for a fix until we wrap.

We have put the camera through its paces quite a bit - I just uploaded a pretty good series of pictures of my friend Alan Dague-Green flying the EPIC-M on his Archer - the Archer and the -M are a very good fit: http://twitter.com/#!/MindsEyeMovie

The EPIC is big fun. Very happy to have made the leap sooner than later.

One week and two days until we wrap.

Sounds like a great project! :-) And you're securing a nice couple of tracks for the soundtrack. Let me know if you need a composer to do some original scoring for the film. :-)
