If I playback a clip in camera and set a look from the playback menu, say buy doing a curve adjustment and some LGG adjustment, how can I make this look stick with the file? If i exit playback and return back to the clip it reverts to the settings "as shot".

The camera will not modify the R3D after it has been recorded and (for the moment at least) is not able to create a RMD file on the REDmag... so anything you change while in playback mode (in out points and look) are not saved and only temporary...

The only way I can think of is (hacky workaround) :
- Go to playback
- Set your look
- Save a look preset

When you reload the clip, re-apply the preset.
If you want to save the settings then be able to apply it in REDCINE-X : apply the preset while in record mode, and record a short clip (with a filmed note saying "LOOK placeholder for clip XXX").

Of course it is a bit faster to do via REDLink and altho my OS X app is able to import a RMD and send it to the camera, I just added to my to do list the reverse (export an RMD from camera current look).

Best solution will be the day when the camera will let you add metadata while in playback (notes, circle take and look) and save the RMD file straight on the REDmag :-)

Cool thanks! I love fool control and use it all the time ;)

I just came across this thread. I was searching the forum for how to add "Notes" and "Circle" in camera, since they are listed in RCX Metadata.

Damn, I'm just realizing you can't do this. I thought it was just some metadata that I hadn't added my camera's slate menu.
Please add this feature, along with the ability to create a playlist based on "Circled" takes.
Thanks.
