  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Some friends of mine where out doing some test shootings with their Scorpio camera car on the horse track here in Stockholm. Then they asked if I could grade it for them.

I find the material quite interesting as it is shot with A quite slow Canon zoom lens late at night at about 10 o'clock, at 98fps with 90 deg shutter, and the material has this nice magic hour kind of feel that can really be pulled in a lot of different directions. Some could argue it's all a bit under exposed, but I actually think the grain and such coming from that matter gives the images an rather appealing look. (I even added more grain when I did the grade bellow).

Any way I figure it would be cool to show them what the guys at reduser could do with colors so I figure I upload a couple of r3d's. So please if you feel like playing with horses here is a link to the r3d download.

And here is a link to the vimeo file I uploaded from the HD grade I did, It does not show much of picture qualities as vimeo makes most things look like go pro, but to me it very much makes me want one of those camera cars :)

Any way here is my grade, in retrospect I think I gone a bit dark but I really like the way it's possible to play with the sky on these shots and the way the low exposure bringings texture to the shots. So in the process of fiddling with the sky I think I went a bit dark on horses, So I might give it another go if i get time and make a brighter version. :)

very cool stuff. those horses would go so much faster without those lazy bones along for the ride...
