Uh a T2.9 18, 21 and 25mm ? Slow wides make it a complete non starter for me. The 3 reasons I use primes are 1. Speed 2. Size / Weight 3.Quality. Take away any one of these and I'm not a customer.
I've got some pretty nice choices in zooms at T2.8, and they are not all that large.
Rehousing looks good. They should up the ante on the wides...

...they maybe sharp, but at $40.000 it is a joke; sorry had to say it.
18mm at T3.8 was not considered half decent speed 50 years ago.
This set should be aimed at 15.000-20.000 top.
One more+ for Red primes

eheheheheheHey Jim, You've announced a price reduction on the Red Primes, but not how much it will be. Any chance we can get that $$ ?
Or are you waiting for Zee Germans to put their cards down first?

Ah, cool, thanks for the correctionThe 18-50 is thought by many to be a rehoused Sigma 18-50 which is designed to cover the sensor of an APS-C DSLR not full frame. It may still cover the Epic 32mm, but if this is true, almost certainly it would not cover full frame.
Hi Doctor,

A nice picture!
don't forget that they are all FF35mm (5K Epic ready) and there by the law of physics you get speed from F/1 (50mm) to F/1.4 at 35, 50, 55, 75, or 85mm focal lengths only.
Hopefully those of us who pre-ordered them back in '07 may be able to work our way closer to the front of the line. :sifone:
