LEICA R on RED: Pictures

JOSEPH!! Man that was great. I know a great piece when I start watching, looking at it from a technical perspective, but then I get sucked into the story. This did that for me. Well done.

Thank you Adam!

I bought an Elmarit-R 2.8/28mm 11247 with the serial number 343xxxx. Is that a Version 2 or 1?

Reto, it's a version 1.

I have a boxed and late version 2 I could sell eventually since I could use the money towards a bigger field monitor, if you're interested contact me.

Hey guys, I just got a Duclos cinemod set and trying to find screw-on filter/step-ring combo that works for full frame. I get bad vignetting on my 19mm V2 and my 24mm even using 82mm low profile filters. Has anyone found a solution for this?

Thanks!

I had a similar problem with my Nikon set which are modded to 80mm fronts. On wide angles if you use screw on type filters you can get vignetting. The solution is to use a mattebox and in doing this I never had any vignetting problems. The space needed to create the filter thread pushing things just far enough out in front of the lens to create the vignetting problem. You won't have this issue with a Mattebox.

My V2 is modded with the Duclos ring and stepped up to 95mm But I never use screw in filters with my Leica set.

No, but full frame is the issue not S35. Are you shooting full frame?
Yes I typically shoot 6kHD or WS. I now have the 19v2 as part of the GL Optics PL rehoused set so I can't test it. My original (now sold) set had the 19V1. I recall my filters just clearing but it sounds like I'm mistaken. I'd have to agree with David. I'm in the process of switching over to motion mount and 4x5.65 filters, once and for all.

At 6k FF there's no vignetting on my 19 v2 with Duclos front and filter.

Just wanted to throw it out there. I purchased the 35-70 f4 and was trying to figuring out the issue of adding the stepup ring. I got a 60-58 step down, 58-60 step up, then went 60-77 and there is lots of clearance and works perfect. The lens is close to parfocal at some focal lengths, but not quite. Seems nice overall though.

Figured I'd share some freeze frames from a short I recently shot. Shot with my Weapon MG with my cinevised Leica Rs by GL Optics, mostly 19 T2.8, 35 T2, 50 T2, and 90 T2

Hi Guys,

I am planing a Leica R Set but I have some questions..

My Basic Set would be:

Leica Elmarit-R 11225 2,8/19mm
Leica Summicron-R 11115 2/35mm Model 2
Leica Summilux-R 11776 1,4/50mm Model 2
Leica Summilux-R 11880 1,4/80mm

Is this a good Set or would you go for other ones?
I can't decide between Summicron and Summilux for the 35mm and the 50mm.. What do you think?
What's the difference between 19mm Version 1 and 2?

Thank you for your help! :)

Great frames Chris. I like how the indoor lighting look was maintained... is that the final grade?

Thanks Mark, as of now that isn't the final grade. The director is thinking on giving it a cool and darker look, but for this scene I just love how it currently looks with this grade.

If one is using Summicrons C with Weapon 8k which super wide to wide angle still Lecia lenses would be a good match for use in a crash cam environment or on drones?
