So I've checked out the online reviews of the above lights. As usual, there's a wide price range ($2400 - $4000+ for 1' x 4' panel), and not clearly a wide CRI quality. I understand that this is in part due to the fact that CRI is a bit of an obsolete metric.

Any of you have some sage advice about where to invest, and why? The ikan lyra looks like a heckofa deal (relatively speaking).

I recently purchased a Kinoflo LED "Freestyle" after looking around at similar lights.

Did you look at Arri Skypanels? Or Lite Panels "Astra"?

Or Aputure, or Dracast?

Technically, yes ARRI could have been on my list. The 120C is even more expensive than the KinoFlo. I'm aiming to economize, but not make a decision I'll regret.

If you're in this price point for a single light, take a real close look at the Litepanels Gemini. I've been using it for 3 weeks and despite my normal "feels" for soft panel lights, it's become one of my favorite keys. Not much you can't do with it and the quality of light is real high as is the output.

I'm looking for 3:1 or 4:1 format. The Gemini (2:1) would be 2x the price of the 4:1 Kino and 4x the price of the 4:1 ikan. Which it may well be worth...just sayin.

I picked a pair of Aputure LED panels and they are super nice! They aren't super high end, but I seriously think they might be one of the better bangs for the buck!
