I'm totally digging the suit the first guy is wearing and the tapping is amazing!
Can't wait till you give us a behind the scenes.

that flare at 0:28. Any idea if that is via the lens or is added in post? I've noticed this white flaring in other HP ads (the one in the airplane) and can't figure out if it is from lens or if that is just an effects pack added in post. Anyone know?

Looks a little like gate flare.

Definitely in camera. I did this video a while back. Check out the flares at around 30 seconds.

It happens often. Really just depends on the angle of any light that's bouncing around the gate... and was common on film. It's often flagged away, but sometimes will be prominent in a shot with movement in frame or can be exaggerated by extreme light sources at particular angles.

I'd say (in this case) unintentional - as the shot cuts mid way through and (if it was added in post) the incoming shot could have been tweaked a little to smooth the transition (ie - a little matching flare)... and there's no obvious flare in any other shots. It's easy to add gate flare, but not to remove it :)

But, the DIT on the shoot started the thread, so I'm sure Dino G can add his thoughts/experience.

I like to see it, as it reminds me of film :)
