David,
It must be nice to have the money to put their limited edition yellow-colored Pre-production Komodo 6k directly into fire like that.
Bill,
I know what you mean and it probably was one of a few provided. However, I was just thinking some productions that won't be given cameras for marketing purposes will buy one or many multiple of these cameras and use them once for a stunt, car chase scene and or an explosion or two. They will just be one-time disposable cameras like toilet paper in a bathroom. At about $5000 for just the body for the production versions before batteries and extra rigging, that seems to me personally to be a lot of money.
I know that amount of money for a multi-million dollar film is like pennies but I'm just saying.....
Kemalettin,
Erik's side of the interview was shot with a DSMC2 HELIUM, and Naida's was a trusty SCARLET-X.
RED Komodo in Savannah, Georgia

So, I screwed up and forgot to CC Clark in my response email to Jarred for the Stormtroopers. I finally figured that out after waiting so long for a response and posting in the Komodo User Group on FB. I replied rather quickly (14 mins after email went out originally). I emailed and called (left voicemail) yesterday, but haven't heard anything back. I'm not trying to piss anyone off here. I'm in limbo here and have no idea if I'm going to be able to buy one or not now. Short of emailing again and attempting to call more, what's the next best step to get in touch with Clark/Jarred to confirm my eligibility? Any advice? Thanks!

I'll be glad when the hazy flair lens fad goes away.
Philip stated on the YouTube page that his lens a canon 24-70 vii fogged in the 98 percent humidity and he did a bad job of clearing it.
It’s generally not a hazy, flaring lens.
Thanks,
Tim
I also wondered and checked the YouTube comments to find out what it was. I think it’s just a really flatAh... Just saw it on here and didn't see any notes or specs. Unfortunately I think we've all fought that battle at some point. I thought maybe it was something like a Tokina Vista One.
Are there any Dynamic Range Test for Komodo out there???
i see many people already got their cameras.
I haven't seen a formal DR test yet but there are comparisons with Helium already out there :

I wouldn't ever count somebody else's pockets like that. We weren't given multiple cams, and we earn what we get. That's our only Komodo. We don't have a backup. We've had our business decimated by LA's shutdowns like everyone else. We earned our Komodo by taking DSMC2s into fire zones and risking our lives to capture our füti in ways that nobody else is willing to. Our Helium and our Gemini never flinched after spending all year in fire, smoke, ash, water, phos-chek, and ridiculous heat...and those are the "unreliable" cameras. Why would we hesitate to abuse the camera that's meant to be a tank? We know what REDs are capable of, so what you may see as recklessness or arrogance of wealth, we see as just routine shooting. We don't shoot camera charts at home. We shoot in the field. We aren't white collar tentpole bros with bottomless pockets. We put ourselves in debt to get our gear just like everyone else. I've poured my entire life savings into financing my own doc. I have no support. I have no backup. Don't assume that the Komodo people are some elitist club. Far from it.
