  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

KOMODO....

Billy how about this then.

Hope Jarred concurs with Jack.

Billy,

HaHaHa, I think Jarred has seen it and will make a determination on if they want to offer that color or not.

Domenic,

Yeah it would be great. However, it would probably cost about the same amount or close to the price of the Komodo I'm thinking.

Carbon Fiber one is really nice. Definitely would like that one. I think I can only afford the regular one.

It just occurred to me that one useful feature, given the use case for the Komodo, would be an in-camera "image flip." Since a major use for this will be mounting it in hard-to-reach places, I'd love to be able to rotate the camera body so that the control screen faces down, and have the output to monitors be flipped so that it's not upside-down. (And also have no need to spend time flipping footage in post.)

Any chance this possible feature has been mentioned?

To use RCP via the control port (like with our current DSMC2 / Freefly setup on a drone) would I need to wait for the Komodo base plate to ship at some point in the future, or is possible to pinout RCP from the expansion port directly? Perhaps Freefly or a third party could work out a DC power/RCP cable kinda like what Freefly does for the Phantom VEO?

If Komodo can take single frame stills, I wonder if there is some sort of GPI available through the EXT port that would be capable of syncing studio strobes.

It's exactly what I'm curious about, syncing with studio strobes. My guess is that the global shutter should make it possible, the only thing is that we might need ND filters and then record with the highest FPS and pick the still frames where strobes light the scene. I would love it if any of the first komodo owners test it and share the information with us...

This is something I've been interested in as well. Got my DSLR stolen and have a flash kit. If Komodo can completely supplant my need for a stills camera that would be so rad.
