  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

A quick test of colour & noise performance with two lightweight documentary cameras, the Red Komodo and the Fujifilm X-T4. I used a few ultralight lenses I had on-hand to get a feel for how each might perform. Shot in "The Cave" in Bagnolet, France with @theengineproject

CHANGES IN THIS BUILD

Added: Additional pre-defined source resolutions to the Framing Control.

Fixed: Exporting with Fix Width selected, doesn't always maintain the original aspect ratio.

Fixed: Export ignoring Framing Origin X and Y settings.

Fixed: Framing Guide alignment issue that was setting Frame Guide X and Y to 0.


To take advantage of Windows R3D decompression on NVIDIA CUDA GPUs, ensure that the latest NVIDIA driver is installed via a clean installation to ensure all residual NVIDIA drivers are removed.
If performance issues are observed with a multiple NVIDIA CUDA GPU configurations, please ensure that a clean installation of the latest NVIDIA CUDA driver has been performed.

I posted that Particular video because I personally always like the colors and quality of the Fuji XT cameras image to that of the Canon, Panasonic or Olympus cameras. So when I saw the comparison between the Komodo, that I think also has great colors, I posted it more to show how well the Komodo stacks up against the Fuji XT-4's colors. Not so much to show that the XT-4 was better.

Love the colors, but the compression artifacts are bad on the water shots. Lots of fine detail in rapid random motion breaks the codec.

Yeah, and that was what always kept me from actually buying a Fuji camera. I ended up buying a Panasonic GH4 and GH5 for the reason you mentioned above along with other reasons. I loved the Fuji Cameras colors, unfortunately that was probably one of the only things I did like.

Hey guys,

Is there any news when the Black Komodo will be shipping internationally and as well to official resellers? (Ordering through an official reseller here in Switzerland, that's why I'm asking)
What is a realistic date? And what would be the best case and worst case scenario?

I know, being patient is really the only thing to do right now, and I totally understand it with the current situation going on, but knowing kind of potential time window could really help regards to planning some indy productions.
