I did! Specifically the "Evolution" mount which is much beefier and has a stainless flange. Made in EU. It's killer! Rock solid build with it's proprietary support bracket to the 8Sinn cage. I took a page from all the DIY automotive work I've done over the years (have to save money for new camera gear somehow!) and slowly cross-rotated the four screws to get a nice even and firm seat on the bracket and lens mount. Thing is Not. Going. Anywhere.![]()
When I'm ready to snarf up a PL mount, I'll check out the 8Sinn mount.
I've been eyeing the Revolva, but the reality is that my main priority for the Baby Dragon is to be able to stuff it in my backpack along with a pile of survival and climbing gear, not for sticking giant 842 pound lenses on it. (That's what the Epic-W is for.)
So... I ordered one of Canon's portable 800 birdography lenses instead.
I expect that a good birdography lens will also be a good lens for "hunting" bears and elk as well.
Congratulations Rakesh! That must have been such a good feeling. We are waiting on paperwork for dual EU-USA... nothing like 2020 to really drive home the importance of keeping multiple avenues of opportunity open!
You have no idea. I've been wanting to get out of this film reject region for a long time, and had to jump through a slew of hoops to pull it off, like getting an updated birth certificate and finding a Canadian citizen living in the US who's known me for two years to sign my paperwork and passport photos, and so on.
But oddly during the pandemic I've had an EASIER time finding IT work than usual. Dull, mindless, soul-sucking work mostly, but it's paying for my Komodo.
