PLEASE RED.

It´s not hard.

We need a horizon line. Yes, we have 6K, but fixing horizons shouldn´t be the job of the editor when I could manage it better on set!!! PLEASE PLEASE this would be such a simple addition.

:iagree:
Particularly for a camera like Komodo which is made to be rigged in rather unorthodox ways.

Though RED might hate it, we should rename the feature request/complaint department to PLEASE RED.

I agree, this would be a welcomed addition.

Well, I don't want to spit in the soup here and I understand that some feel a need to have this line to aid with some scenarios, but it's not for me. I arrange and align the objects in front of the lens inside the frame, not to the gravity field around it. And most of the times, that is quite a difference.

More so than a horizon line, there's specific guides I've sent a request in for to RED. Thirds, horizontal, and vertical. Also sent over horizon, but would really like guides in there. Not exactly lost without them, but there are unfortunately issues when using external screens to monitor camera settings on the GUI and applying external guides. This has been my current work around, but is far from having it built it.

Guides (thirds, grid) would be very welcome, especially for Komodo when it's used without an external monitor.

I would like to see an option to send a 16:9 or 17:9 crop image when shooting in anamorphic mode. Often I shoot with anamorphic but deliver in a 16:9 aspect ratio. Monitoring the full anamorphic scope results in a very small image. I think the option to monitor the center crop in 16:9 and 17:9 would be extremely helpful.

Admittedly, would need some additional gaffer tape - at least. Maybe also a chair to stand on. Still thinking about the drone scenario... :)

We don't even have confirmation that there's any onboard gyro on Komodo, as far as I know?

There are only zeros in the gyro data in the R3D no matter how hard I shake the Komodo, so I have a little doubt.

I've got a Komodo on loan for the weekend, thinking of using it on a low budget feature that'll be pretty much all shot on Steadicam. Not having a horizon indicator is probably a deal breaker, though I am loving how light the rig is. Seems a strange omission, especially if there's gyro sensors in there, which it sounds like there is.
