Is it just people who are picking up their ST Komodo's in LA that have already received invoices, or have any invoices been sent out for those who are getting it shipped? Especially interested to know if any International shipping ST orders have received invoices yet?

Here is my timeline (I'm in Canada). I wished I had jumped on this a LOT sooner as I recently and suddenly have a bunch of confirmed work in August that was initially postponed and it is looking more and more like I missed out on the first batch. Wasn't intending to shoot on the Komodo so soon, but it would have been very nice...

Anyhow, still waiting for my second email from Clark to confirm payment, here is my timeline EST:

Based on my phone, email, and inbox it sounds like a bunch of cameras are either about to be sent or just arriving in the wild.

And yes:
- CFAST 2.0 Cards - Ideally faster cards, I prefer 256GB and up. Do not use 64GB cards, they are slooooow.
- Canon BP Series Batteries - The actual Canon batteries are chipped and do transmit power information to the Komodo Brain.

There is a growing number of approved cards that have been fully tested as they are tested. RED is selling branded Angelbird CFAST 2.0 media, 512GB cards, that should tell you a lot in terms of where to look IMO. But there's other good quality stuff too.

Batteries, some of the cheaper knockoffs suck. Really suck. Up to you which direction you want to go here. BP Charger, using the Watson one. I'd kill for a robust quad or 6 channel charger for BPs. There's 2 out now, but so much can be done here.

And outside of that, check my stuck threads for mount adapters and other goodies if you are going to accessorize in fashionable attire. Erm.. Functional attire.

Yes, lots of V-Mount, G-Mount Adapters. Wooden Camera, Tilta, and more coming. Same for cages and other goodies.

Oh gosh, I got my first Clark email on 3rd July, can almost confirm I won’t be hearing anything regarding shipping from him this month. Initially thought I could get it by mid august through international shipping but guess I will received it around early September. The wait is long though... Anyway great job to the Red team, they must be working hard behind the scenes.

I got my email from Clark on the 4th of July, responded on the 5th. No second email yet.

Being that the emails were sent in blasts, im sure there are quite a few people ahead of us.

Yeah that’s right. I got mine slightly earlier than yours. I was lucky to get a reply from Clark when I am adding accessories to my order. He stated my allocation is roughly 10+- days away. You guys can estimate your allocation from here.

By the time Hydrogen units ship there will probably be lightly-used white/yellow/orange Komodos available for $1k off. I didn't think RED could further add to the Hydrogen insult but putting owners way, way at the back of the bus is pretty rude. Oh that's right it wasn't RED that made that RED Hydrogen, never mind.

I was going to wait on the black edition and get my hydrogen discount but decided to get on the stormtrooper list.

Its rude to offer a $1000 discount to buyers of a $1000 cell phone as soon as the Komodo is released to the public?
Maybe your expectations are unrealistic?

I don't have any expectations as I am not a Hydrogen owner. The discount was supposed to lessen the sting of the Hydrogen debacle. The "public" is buying many of the ST units. By the time the Hydrogen discount kicks in, Komodo will be old news. I don't see this as being much of a reward for Hydrogen buyers. Yes they bought a "$1000 cell phone" but only after RED insiders fell over themselves emoting about the amazing tech.

I was just on the phone with Clark to finalise my payment and I thought I share some thoughts and insights for those still waiting, hopefully giving some peace of mind.

- PLEASE BE PATIENT! Emailing Clark and asking about updates will only delay the entire process. He shared that there are hundreds of people waiting for their Stormtrooper. Now imagine having to reply to all sorts of little updates times a hundred while also processing the orders. INSANITY! He really, really appreciates everyone's patience more than you can imagine!!
- Jarred shared that everyone who replied to his initial email will get a stormtrooper. So it is just a matter of time.
- Clark (and everyone else at RED) is working their asses off. The emails I have received throughout the process from Clark came in between 1:30-3:00 AM PST! He is pulling very late hours so that all of us can get our stormtrooper as soon as possible.

I know how hard it is to wait and not knowing if info went through or when to expect the next step. But patience and self control are a virtue. Trust that Clark, Jarred, and team have everything under control.

Oh, wow! Looks like Lockdown #2 for the state of CA has really played a number on the delivery estimate.
Gives you a good indication of both the hurdles the skeleton manufacturing crew have to go through as well as the interest in this little beast!

Yes, Stormtroopers are pre-release units running beta firmware. The firmware will continue getting polished and more features will get turned on as that will eventually become the release firmware for the Regular Production (Black) units.

As for the aftermarket sale of Stormtrooper Komodo cameras, I kinda doubt that will happen.
Historically, less than 1‰th ever left the hands of the original owner (just one I think). So, judging by the interest as exemplified by that ~10 day estimate mentioned above, it is safe to say there's even less of a chance that a baby dragon will ever be allowed to leave the nest! Even less likely at a discounted price. And let's not even get started on the odds of that happening with one of the extremely limited Crazy Coloured ones.

I'd like to think I speak for all Red customers when I say that the Red team's health and safety are far and away everyone's top priority. I'd rather not a have a ST at all than one more person contract COVID. That said, I'm super excited to take delivery, whenever that is!
