Can someone recommend the best video wireless TX/RX for the Red Komodo? I've researched the Vaxis ATOM 600 KV Wireless Transmitter/ Receiver kit but can not
find any reviews. Also not sure I want to purchase one transmitter that only works on one camera. Thoughts??

A full new kit is so damn expensive, but you really can’t beat Teradek. I’ve got that Vaxis TX/RX for Komodo. It’s fine for a client/Director, but you really can’t pull focus with it.

Thanks for the reply. I was wondering about pulling focus with the Vaxis. For 1k and made for the Komodo you would think you could pull focus with it.

I use the Vaxis system for my livestreams and it works fantastic! I agree, not for critical focus but still a great wireless system for livestreaming and monitoring.

My focus puller is using a Cristal sistem with my komodo, pretty decent 1080p livestream, had some problems with signal, but I guess that's a decent cheap option. Have you checked hollyland too? That's something that I was looking into buying if I can't afford a terradeck.

I've been using the Hollyland 400s for a few years- it's great for client monitoring, and the built in iOS transmission has been really useful: on small projects I find it really a godsend to light with it.

It's not great for pulling focus TBH: signal seems to degrade on bigger sets (too much RF pollution maybe?) and also seems to compress the lower half of the signal from a luma perspective maybe? If it's a really brightly lit scene, it seems to deliver more detail in terms of focus.

For the price- can't be beat that I've seen- but, it's not a swiss army knife.

Best? Teradek Bolt 4K. Even at 1080p the newer encoding and bit stream is better than anything on the market. But that doesn't sound like what's being looked for here.

Budget friendly, Vaxis likely.

Got the teradek for Komodo. The lag is simply not good enough for any type of critical use. But normally we just use that cam as a B cam and if having an AC for it then yes it needs an additional system. But then still its quite convenient to just have the stream going to a small SDI screen or even iPad or what ever for the director to somewhat see what picture was captured. But yes everyone is now used to latest and greatest Teradek systems and they are in a different class then the Komodo Vaxis thingy which is more like a nice to have gimmick as I see it.
