KETCH ROSSi Cine Style Shooting Epic M8

By now Ketch is on-set for today's Ferrari shoot. I'm sure he'll jump back on this thread later this evening to post more info and answer questions.

$7000 for everything you see there... thats not just the Shoulder rig but a few other additional bits as well.

Would love a breakdown of what is pictured along with prices. Is that a new sliding dovetail on the base plate underneath the Gunner? What about the two parts on the right that just say Red Pro on them. NATO rails?

Holy mother of sweetness...can you please add this to my Epic-M when you ship it this week? :)

Can the Element Technica 19mm Hybrid baseplate be incorporated into this system?

Hello,

Tom do you have any idea on what the time-lapse settings will be like on the Epic? Will we have similar settings to what can be accomplished on a DSLR?

Can't wait!

Best,

ATF

Better. Way better.
There's alot of room for us to make it very flexible.
Coming after we wrap up some other features first.

Ketch, I must say that looks like a very cool rig, and more full featured then the one I remember at NAB! Can you post a picture with you operating with it?

And I bet both cost more than I'm used to paying for an entire DSLR. I'll wait for something from Redrock :P

seriously? I like Redrock, but next to my Red accs there is NO comparison!! My red rock matte box has fallen apart and Red Rock doesnt care (they even said "oh, you must have gotten one of our first units") then didnt give a shit to make it right. Meanwhile all my original accs from Red are still in perfect condition.

Pay for quality!

Thing of beauty, isn't it :)
Ketch, it just dawned on me that you'll be showing up on that Ferrari shoot today with a "Ferrari" of a camera system and setup too :-)

Yeah unfortunately Steve we didn't get to shoot much of the Ferrari California at all yesterday as we shot mostly interiors of
Chris Botti the Artist and owner of the Ferrari to be featured in the Magazine, we are do for a second day of shooting
on an Ultimate arm date is uncertain do to crazy Schedule of every one involved int his Collaboration ;)

The RED Shoulder Rig System, is unlike anything I ever seen and or used before, it re-defines the word "MODULARITY" its mounting possibilities are limitless,
yesterday I mounted it and dismounted it piece by piece, in many different ways accordingly to the need of the shoot and or lenses mounted on.

Counterbalance of the unit can be achieved by use of the "GREAT" Chest & Back Pads, or by Either use of batteries and or possibly a counter weight of
actual weights depending on lens and configuration size and final weight, also off course depending on position of camera, as in this rig you can mount
the bottom Dovetail in many positions from way back high over the shoulder pad it self to low in front as it shows in the original pictures posted, use of
the RED BOMB EVF or LCD, can be also just about mounted any were.

Configuration also can be infinitely adjusted depending on the main factor if the rig is Operated by one individual "GIBBY STYLE" or if operated "CINE STYLE"
were you have a Focus Puller, this two variation allow for mounting the camera high above the shoulder pad for better counter balancing without the need of
any weights form battery pack and or actual weight to counter balance and keep the rig as light as possible, and or if Self operated then can be mounted in
the lower front configuration as shown int he pic above posted as this allows for the self operator to have the Lens in a more comfortable position.

I added an additional pic to the thread above to show just an other configuration ;)

Again there is more to what I have shown in the pictures posted as far as additional components including some very cool parts to allow for the use of the RED ONE.

Further more this Rig is solid as a Rock, very Light, and... ITS MODULARITY & CONFIGURABILITY AND MOUNTING OPTION ARE SIMPLY AMAZING!!

LOVE IT!!!

The RED TEAM did it Again, Thanks Guys ;)

The setup looks very comprehensive... Maybe too much for my way of working. I wonder if we'll be able to purchase just certain elements for those of us who don't feel the need to captain the starship shoulder rig?

Ketch, do you see yourself using it in conjunction with the Atom? Can't remember if the Atom has it's own shoulder mount already ....

Yes Anthony, this would be the perfect Shoulder rig to configure precisely with ATom as well for ultimate mobility in 3D,
but will also use it with Scarlett?neutron 3D rigs for even smaller lighter configurations.
