  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Brent mentioned a couple pages back that January time stamps or at least earlier ones should be more likely before Fall. I'm a 1/6/16 time stamp so I'm certainly hoping for that!

Earlier in the thread, I think either Brent or Jarred mentioned something about January orders likely being allocated before the end of Summer. At least I'd like to hope so, I have a January 8th timestamp.
 
They did say that was likely, but that was based on the timeline of June for day one orders, July for day two, and August to get through rest of December and into January. Given how few day one orders being received I've heard of on reduser and facebook, I'd take a guess and say that timeline isn't quite being met.

That's my concern. I'm in the first two hours on Dec 10 and haven't heard anything yet with only one more week left in June. I've got a busy week next week that I was hoping to have the camera for, so I'm a little bummed. But I didn't promise a RED so at least I'm not up shit creek without a paddle!

We sold our camera in january to upgrade to scarlet-w. I thought the priority for owners would go differently. Since, we're renting. It's like if I gave my scarlet-D for free, and paid even more money, now ^^ It's tough. But well, health is there. So just waiting.

Brent, Jarred, I think redusers will soon need an webcam at the end of the assembly line, with a live feed :))

Fuck, that sucks. Sorry to hear. I know you're not alone, though. I've got a friend who is really glad he didn't sell his Scarlet-D yet, but then I've got another who thought he would have the Scarlet-W by now and has had to pay out for rentals.

So have any of the Scarlet-D upgrades been allocated? Makes me realize there is still another small mountain of orders they have to get through before getting to us plain ol' vanilla preorders. Hopefully July is our month?
 
I don't want to add pure speculation to the mix but a thing I keep thinking about is that I would **guess** that the dealers were ready and waiting to put in their bulk orders on Day1. The mountain is probably well high enough for day one, and I have heard through the grapevine that a solid amount of people who ordered through dealers aren't wildly active RedUsers (this from my dealer who said I'm his only order that checks reduser with any frequency because I know what the word is when we chat on the phone). We may not be seeing as many people reporting in for this reason. Again, pure conjecture but that's how I'm looking at it.
 
I have spoken to and seen a few people on Instagram that ordered through dealers in March that have already received, because the dealer did a large stock order close to the pre-order date.

In MARCH? Jesus. I thought going straight to the source would be the best option. Which dealers? I'm sure their stock is gone by now, though.

EDIT: And of course, I know that the dealers placed orders that got fulfilled in sequence just like us, so I totally understand how it works. Not trying to bitch about that. Just a bummer that there were shoots I could have used it on in the last four months and some of the guys who ordered from the dealers didn't have to wait. Wah wah.

Interesting. I checked with dealers a loooong time ago and every single dealer (I actually emailed every single official dealer on the red list) told me they didn't order any cameras from RED that didn't already have a deposit from someone so it didn't seem to make sense since it would have been exactly the same as putting it in directly through red.
 
Day 1 Scarlet Dragon owner here. No word. I sold my camera in early March, thinking I would get it some time in March or April. I could have sold my camera for another $2,000. I was giving it away so I would get the funds for the Scarlet-W. phail
 
What day/hour did you order?
not getting any feedback from red on fulfillment so please help us calibrate expectations!! Thx
 
From what my rep has told me, they're still catching up on allocations from before the Scarlet-W halt. Not sure how current his info is, but so far that's the best he's been able to give me... basically no idea how long a wait it's going to be. Unfortunately. :(

Dec 10, 2015 11:58pm EST (last few mins of day 1), but the Scarlet Dragon owners also have "priority in the allocation queue", whatever that means. lol

Yeah, it's a little strange that "priority" apparently meant "well, after we honor timestamps from Raven switchers." I would have assumed priority meant priority.
 
As far behind as they are on color cameras I'm sure they haven't given much thought to the RAVEN monochrome... I'd just like to know if it is still on the agenda at some point.
