  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Jason Diamond House Fire

So sorry to hear that Jason.. hope you get back on your feet soon! Love the love in this community. Done!

I was deeply saddened by this news.

@ Jarred, I don't know if its my browser but somehow I am unable to make a donation

Sorry to hear those sad news Jason, wish you and your family all the best. Hope you get back into life soon.

The fundraiser has been stopped: "...We've decided the amount reached is enough to get us up on our feet & moving forward so we halted the page...."

Damn - too late to the game. Would've loved to chip in and help out Jason and family. Glad to see people stepping up like this. Jason must be humbled beyond belief :-)

Tell Jason to use only RED Bricks next time. Those off-brand batteries are clearly a real hazard!! ;-)

Is this what happened ?

Sorry to hear about this jason, i'm sure you'll find your way through it. the blessing is that no one was hurt.

I'm blown away by how many people donated to my family in under 24hrs.
The community has responded with incredible vigor & support. We've decided the amount reached is enough to get us up on our feet & moving forward so we halted the page.
I can't stress enough how good it feels to have everyone on our side and we, of course, are on all of your sides. I am absolutely humbled by all of this.

I also want to thank Jarred for starting this thread and for all the support over all of our long journeys together.

Thank you to everyone, REDUser is a great community!!

Also, the fire started when the gas meter in my basement erupted into flames. There must have been a small gas leak or something and this was also the day before the huge building explosion in the Bronx which was also caused by a gas leak. My son and I had to run from the building as it was happening so we count ourselves as very lucky it was fire and not an explosion or worse. Also, luckily I do not keep gear at my house.

Good luck jumping over this hurdle Jason...
If I may add a joke I'd say I'm glad to read no Dragon was involved in starting this fire...
Stay safe !

No silly . . . the ;-) is a wink meaning a joke. Bringing some levity to a bad situation. We all know only Arris start fires and Canons are radioactive ;-)

ah sorry, i didn't know that. Anyway it's great when a community comes together, great to see this happening, i went to make a donation but the page had been locked.

Glad to hear you and your son got out safely. Here's to rebuilding!

I'm so sorry to hear that. All the best to Jason and his family!
The donation is closed, so I can't join the funding team anymore. But at least all my best wishes to Jason and hopefully you're up and running soon!

Most important thing is all of you are safe and sound!

Jason, I sincerely hope you and your family are ok and your life returns to normal soon (at least as much as possible after such a disaster). My family's house burned down when I was a teenager, and we lost everything. It was incredibly sad and disruptive but in the end, that fact that we were all safe was more important. I wish I could donate...

Jason,

I'm glad you and your family are ok. What a way to escape! I'm late to the game on the donation, however, I'm glad to hear that what people have donated so far will get you and your family back on your feet. Good luck to you and keep moving forward.

Sorry to hear this and sympathise

Glad you guys got out alright. Love this community too and how everyone can come together when a fellow member needs help!

Now I am going to go replace the batteries in my smoke alarms.

Definitely a good idea and make sure they're current and tested. Also have a CO detector or hybrid smoke/CO units! They're required in most places in the USA now for new construction, but lots of people still don't have them. I just bring it up because I've seen the CO alarms save lives.
