  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Jarred's pet dog... Izzy

haha is it so bad that everytime i shoot on my ex1 i feel like im cheating on it, because im thinking of a scarlet in my head.

Dont feel bad, im about to shoot a feature on the HVX, but dont tell it please

Guys, this camera is going to be so great. I can't even wait.

An hour or so ago I was recommending someone buy an EX-1 whilst all the time wanting to say Scarlet.

That's funny, my buddy came to me this past weekend to get my opinion on whether he should get a Z1U or a Z7U for his first camera. Fortunately that's his comfort zone and has no intention of trying anything else or beyond, so I didn't have to reveal to him that there was something even greater on the horizon that he should be trying. Part of me didn't want to tell him anyways. :shifty:

this camera looks amazing. I will definately be buying it. I dont understand why you need footage to look better than this. This footage looks amazing it looks like 35mm. So why for the need of the cameras with bigger sensors and more pixels?

Anyway, I think this shot is beautiful. I will be shooting a feature by the end of the year with this camera. If its available by then.

This is a macro shot, which always has less DOF. So it's not indicative of the DOF you'll find in most subjects, people and places for instance.

As far as resolution is concerned that's a different argument but over-sampling has many advantages, even when only finishing to the web.

Kill, good luck with that man. :sarcasm:

I have gotten very comfortable with the idea that my HVX will remain in my possession till I die. It is now, officially, my BTS camera. Which, at a very pleasing "960p", will make my flawless 1080p look even better. One way or an other, it is ALL about contrast.

Jarred,
Has it ever fetched a stick or licked it's balls? Probably not.
You know why...it's a Lizard!!!
It's ain't no dog.

D

Hard to make comparisons on such a small multi-compressed clip but that doesn't look like any 2/3" shot I've ever seen, at any price. And all before Jim and Graeme get their hands on it. WOW!

Can't you guys cut it out! I have a life to lead and I can't get away from Reduser.

Impressive detail in the mead tones, even with this type of compression, definitely been a DOF addict, I have to say that I do like the 2/3 DOF as well, not 35, but definitely very good in deed, I was thinking of the SCARLET 2/3 as my Behind the scene cameras, and documenting all kind of stuff, as well as the camera for scouting etc. but I see from this clip that it can be much more then that, so much more.

Independent filmmaking will never be the same after HER release :)

ciao
