  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

January 2016 update

Nope, Matthew,you are not. We got slammed with beyond forecasted media orders as we have ramped up camera shipping. We are working on it...
 
I just wanted to give a shout out to my Bomb Squad rep Nick Watkins. My previous rep left Red during my weapon upgrade process. Nick jumped in and got everything back on track. He has been professional, quick to answer questions and return calls. My weapon arrived yesterday along the v-mount expander. Nick is awesome.

For all you guys waiting on the weapon just hold tight it is so worth the wait. The weapon is insane in its totality. Ive been with red since 2006 and the weapon and DSMC2 system is smooth and refined. Red has upped the game once again. Congratulations to Jim, Jarred and the whole Red team, you guys have created a true master piece.

Here is a quick pic of my setup. I still have a few things to work out but its coming together really nice.

Nick Watkins has helped me a lot too! Everything from calling me first thing in the morning (6 AM PST) to answer my crazy questions to updating me about every step of the process. I realize that Nick already has a another job at RDC and that this additional customer work is above and beyond... Nick and RDC the tech and RMA support teams are true professionals – – but you already knew that!
 
So after being told yesterday that yes, my Weapon was in line to ship out today and taking care of upgrading the shipping for Saturday delivery, no notice of it shipping out today. Tried calling and emailing my rep late in the day when I hadn't heard anything and never got a response before the end of the day. So now I've got media shipping in tomorrow for a camera I don't have, no way to upgrade my insurance so I can rent a camera over the weekend, and needing to do a shoot in another city come Monday morning with no camera on hand. Have not been really thrilled with this whole upgrade process. The MX to Dragon process seemed to go much smoother and quicker than this.
 
Matthew..I would ask for a different Rep. Try Kevin Solomon.

Right? I have had a few Bombsquaders. I feel like he has his finger on the trigger and is replying to my queries before I push send.....
 
Sorry if I seemed like I was throwing my rep under the bus. He has stepped in and done a great job over the last week. He was just passing on the info about shipping that the inventory manager told him, so it's not his fault that it didn't ship out today. My invoice even closed today and everything, it just didn't appear to ship. Now I just have to figure out how to get a camera for Monday morning..sigh.

I once received my camera without ever receiving a shipping notification. So maybe, just maybe, it did ship and for some reason the email wasn't sent.

Who knows?

That's my last hope this morning as I wait for FedEx Office to call to say that my package with the rental mags has arrived. I am really hoping they say I have two packages.

The 3 pack OLPF is included only with the Forged CF. http://www.red.com/store/products/limited-edition-weapon-forged-cf-upgrade-package-deposit

Woven CF gets you the single. http://www.red.com/store/products/weapon-woven-cf-upgrade-package-deposit


However, there is a discount on a 3 pack at time of upgrade. Unsure on the pricing with the Woven CF, but Mg 3 pack adds $ 495

Great news. They did ship my camera out but never sent tracking info. At least since a mistake was made, the right kind of mistake was made (forgetting to send tracking info.)

My rep disappeared when I was allocated. Won't name names but 10 days later I still haven't received a response after no less than five emails.

I called Red directly and Kevin was the one to answer and he handled everything incredibly quickly. Glad to see him get some props in here.

That's weird, my 3 pack ended up being $455, or $227.50 each. Honestly, it's weird looking at the invoice as it shows the camera at $28,815, the handle as a separate item at $550, and the two OLPF's at $295 each. So the total ends up being $9455 + shipping. Not sure why they did the math that way, but it works.
