I'd say in daylight balanced light, MX can hold it's own... ...Anywhere else and things get boned very quickly.

My friend has an MX so I might be able to do some tests with a couple of portraits or something over the next two or three weeks.
Whenever I boot up his MX I'm like "damn, that still looks really good."
I think in controlled experimental situation the dragon and the weapon R3D would be identical. But I normally am not in a controlled situtation and my previous olpf wasn't the new standard. Some of the reasons for the better texture I think are the new mount and light box on the weapon (I don't think this has been discussed much). Also the blackshading seems to give optimal results every time, so I am getting "optimal" black shading on each shot while in the past I wasn't fanatical on blackshading for each situation. I really like the standard OLPF, much better then the previous ones, if I had a dragon epic I'd ponder getting that standard OLPF and I think you'd get a huge benifit. Here's a raw R3D snapshot http://www.puddlesoflight.com/W002_C004.R3D using the weapon and a 35mm master prime anamorphic of the shot:Funny you are mentioning that, because when we upgraded from Epic X to the Epic dragon this is exactly what I did noticed, the creaminess, and this is what I liked about the dragon 6K sensor.BestB.
You can really see this in the new 8K video that was just released. Look at the background of the interview in the main shot vs the profile shot which was shot on dragon. You can see the huge difference in grain.

Not without putting on an extender. Does 3:2 Anamorphic crop without extender (i.e. 3:1 desquezed). I use the PLx1.4 or PLx2.0 from abelcine if I want full sensor coverage for creating fx practicals and vfx mattes. Can you go 6k FF with your 35mm master anamorphic?

np, if you go to my blog yesterday you can download a weapon anamorphic R3D file which is at the max resolution without extender and no vignetting (4752x3160 ... lol ... i need to check why that isn't exactly 1.5 ratio) : http://pudls.com/blog/2016/02/02/weapon-textures/Gotcha, So without an extender whats the highest resolution you can shoot? ..if you don't mind me asking![]()
Any scarlet-w deposits receiving email's yet?
I'd say that we are a ways off for Scarlet W's yet. A few weeks at least.
Scarlet W is 100% ready and standing by... As we promised to our MG customers, Scarlet-W will only begin to ship right after all MG upgrade customers are blasted which means you early Scarlet-W reservations should start getting your cameras in your hands one month from today.
It was a month away 2 weeks ago remember. At least I think that's what I said![]()
I'm counting the days. I have it down to hours and seconds here.
But of course, whenever it's ready, that's fine by me. You guys are ahead of schedule, so you're certainly allowed some slack. I've been patient since Sept 25th, and I'll remain so until I get that highly anticipated (and feared) invoice in my email. lol
