  • Hey all, just changed over the backend after 15 years I figured time to give it a bit of an update, its probably gonna be a bit weird for most of you and i am sure there is a few bugs to work out but it should kinda work the same as before... hopefully :)

Absolutely.

A great singer and dancer, a phenomenon.

I was a big fan of his, when I was a kid. And still am...

Obviously not everything in his life was perfect, but I'm not sure if these kiddie stories are true...

Anyway, it's all over now.

May he rest in peace.

I just came from 125th street and they have some kind of ceremony at the Apollo. News crews like crazy, helicopters, cops, cars driving by with MJ songs playing, people crying in the streets, people laughing in the streets...

why this is such a marking event.

Pardon me, I am drunk after four Guinessess at Birds, here in Hollywood. Is this my Sanjin moment, will I regret this in the morning... fuck it.

Birds is great, for me, it is my "Cheers". I can always expect that it will be the bar in tune with my needs. And tonight they did not fail! Michael Jackson; big screens, with footage of Michael etc. Good conversation, mixed crowd.

I guess to quantify this simply; is that, like I have said earlier (and others), that this is a door closing on the past. An event that well, is trancendent...
I know that may sound funny but hear me out...

Movies are great, I live and die by them. Get me in front of "Blade Runner" and I act stupid. But they only have an effect so far. I love this field, but it has its limits. I am aware enough to admit that.

Music, played all over the world, has a more permenating effect. I mean the simplesist of devices can pick up an AM single (I spent most of my career in the military intelligence field taking advantage of that fact).

So I guess, that I looked across the bar tonight and thought wow, everybody dancing and listening to MJ and really taking the moment in. Crazy huh.

God more than one girl in my past that, that I had a massive crush on (I was younger in Ohio, 9 years old, skating at Ohio skate... Disco got love it on skates) and this came on, and the lights, the girl... I thought was so incredible.

Any ways, Next week (wanted to do it this week) I am starting a Salon at "Birds"... like the Futurist, except with RED ; - )

I went to art school, what can I say but..."The Futurists repudiated the cult of the past and all imitation, praised originality, "however daring, however violent", bore proudly "the smear of madness" (love that last part, tragic how they all ended).

I will be at Birds on Wednesdays (and Thursdays if better) taking up a table and talking RED.

Since college I have always wanted to have a local hangout talk ART ect. I will make more formal announcenments next week.

I bought my RED... with more of a independent ART, montage piece, aesthetic feeling... big canvas; lot of pixels to work with... oh the pixels.

Anyways; all are invited, I will try an grab a large table, maybe even go nextdoor (2 down) to the sushi place that has a backroom for party groups etc.

I will name a theme topic etc. that I will be armed with ready to talk about, obviously dealing with RED related projects, art, Mantra etc.

YeaH I'm drunk... seee ya next week.

I'm so guttered he didn't get to go out with a bang :(... I was looking forward to seeing what he had to offer at his World Tour.

Some people thought of him as a pedo, some thought of him as just a plastic face, but so many more KNEW him as one of the most talented pop artist of all history.

RIP Michael Jackson
 
sad news....especially sad for me as we had been working on one of his next projects.
 
Meh... The only thing I'm going to miss of MJ is his complete insanity. Exhibit A...
